Applying biosafety farming methods, raising chickens in many different locations to limit diseases, facilitate consumption... is the way to help Mr. Nguyen Van Quan's family, Dong Kim village, Dong Tao commune (Khoai Chau) develop livestock farming, limit diseases, and earn about 300 million VND/year from raising Dong Tao chickens.

Mr. Quan said: Currently, my family has 6 Dong Tao chicken farms with a total herd of over 1,000 chickens. At each farm, I put up signs offering breeding chickens, meat chickens, and gift chickens so that customers near a location can choose to buy at that location. This method helps me to be known by many people, reducing the pressure of consumption at a single farm as before.
To improve the quality and affirm the brand of livestock products to customers, Mr. Quan's family's Dong Tao chickens are raised for about 11 months before being sold. During the raising process, the chickens are fully vaccinated against diseases and supplemented with vitamins to increase their resistance when the weather changes. In particular, to give Dong Tao chickens beautiful feathers and red skin, Mr. Quan uses soaked rice as chicken feed. According to Mr. Quan, soaked rice will help chickens digest easily, provide fiber and absorb better. On cold days, Mr. Quan uses garlic yeast mixed with warm water for the chickens to drink to increase their resistance. Currently, Mr. Quan's family's commercial Dong Tao chickens for Tet weigh an average of 3.9kg/chicken; more than 200 customers have ordered Dong Tao chickens as gifts. In order to diversify livestock products, from 2023, Mr. Quan will also process more products from Dong Tao chicken such as: Salted chicken, Dong Tao chicken ham... Not only selling products directly at the farm, Mr. Quan also promotes products on social networks, accepts delivery to addresses according to customers' requests to help widely promote Dong Tao chicken products, a local specialty, and improve production efficiency.
