Deputy Minister Hoang Dao Cuong received Russian Ambassador to Vietnam Bezdeko Gennady

On the afternoon of October 15, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Deputy Minister Hoang Dao Cuong had a meeting and worked with Mr. Bezdeko Gennady, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Vietnam.

Welcoming Ambassador Bezdeko Gennady to visit and work at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Deputy Minister Hoang Dao Cuong affirmed that in recent times, the cooperation and exchange in the fields of culture, sports and tourism between Vietnam and the Russian Federation has had very good developments, contributing to further developing the comprehensive strategic partnership and cooperation between Vietnam and Russia.

In particular, since the State visit to Vietnam by Russian President Vladimir Putin, Vietnam-Russia cultural, sports and tourism cooperation has been promoted in all three areas, which has been assessed by the two countries' senior leaders as one of the bright spots of Vietnam-Russia cooperation, contributing to further strengthening the high level of trust between the two sides.

Last July, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung led a delegation of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam to visit and work in the Russian Federation and organize the Vietnamese Cultural Days in Russia.

During the working trip, Minister Nguyen Van Hung and the Russian Minister of Culture chaired the first meeting of the Cultural Cooperation Working Group; held talks with the Russian Minister of Sports, agreed to establish a Sports Cooperation Working Group headed by Deputy Ministers of both sides, and signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Sports Cooperation. At the same time, he chaired activities and programs to introduce Vietnamese tourism in Moscow and St. Petersburg, suggesting many directions and measures to promote the development of Vietnam - Russia tourism cooperation in the coming period.

Then, in September 2024, at the invitation of the Russian Minister of Culture, the Vietnamese Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism sent a delegation led by Deputy Minister Ta Quang Dong to the Russian Federation to attend the 10th St. Petersburg International Cultural Forum, working with Russian cultural and artistic training institutions. Before attending the International Cultural Forum in St. Petersburg, Deputy Minister Ta Quang Dong attended the 25th Session of the Vietnam-Russia Intergovernmental Committee in Moscow.

In addition to delegation exchange activities, the two countries have also recently implemented many specific cooperation activities and events in all three fields of culture, sports and tourism with important results.

Thanking Deputy Minister Hoang Dao Cuong and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism for their reception and time, Ambassador Bezdeko Gennady expressed his delight at the important developments in the relationship between Vietnam and the Russian Federation in recent times, including bright spots in the fields of culture, sports and tourism.

Ambassador Bezdeko Gennady said that 2025 marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the Russian Federation. This is a very important event, with many cooperative activities being enhanced between the two countries.

Ambassador Bezdeko Gennady made a number of proposals for cooperation in culture, sports and tourism between the two countries. In particular, he proposed that the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism facilitate the organization of the Turesskiy Choir's tour in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City in 2024. The Russian side also proposed that the Vietnamese side coordinate in organizing the "Rising Stars" Music Project with Russians (lecturers and postgraduates of the Moscow Conservatory who have won awards at international music competitions).

The Russian Ambassador also invited Vietnam to participate in the International program "Wonderful Country" to link high-quality and accessible discovery tours to the educational process in Russia and proposed some cooperation contents in the field of sports between the two countries.

Expressing his agreement with the proposals of Ambassador Bezdeko Gennady, Deputy Minister Hoang Dao Cuong said that the functional units of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will study the information and have specific discussions to have the best coordination.

Emphasizing that the 75th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Russia relations is a very important event, Deputy Minister Hoang Dao Cuong expressed his hope that the two sides will continue to promote deeper cooperation, especially in the fields of culture, sports and tourism to celebrate this very meaningful event./.
