Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hoang Long highly appreciated the projects and operational efficiency of Air Liquide in Vietnam over the years.
Representing Air Liquide Group, Mr. Ronnie Chalmers, General Director of Air Liquide Asia-Pacific reported to Deputy Minister Nguyen Hoang Long about Air Liquide's projects in Asia in general and Air Liquide's factories in Vietnam including: Yen Phong and Que Vo Industrial Parks in Bac Ninh, Saigon High-Tech Park in Ho Chi Minh City, Phu My and My Xuan Industrial Parks in Ba Ria - Vung Tau, providing gas products (oxygen, nitrogen, argon) and other types of gas such as hydrogen, helium, CO2, etc. Mr. Ronnie Chalmers thanked the support of the Vietnamese Government, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and local authorities for supporting Air Liquide Group in implementing the above projects.
According to Mr. Ronnie Chalmers, Air Liquide Group has developed green hydrogen and carbon capture projects in industrial sectors such as cement, metallurgy, etc. in many countries around the world and has a lot of experience in this field. With its experience, Air Liquide wants to invest in green hydrogen production and carbon capture projects in the industrial sector.
Taking note of the comments from Air Liquide Group, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hoang Long emphasized that Air Liquide is a company that has been operating for a long time and has a lot of business experience in Vietnam. Therefore, the Ministry of Industry and Trade welcomes Air Liquide's interest in investing and developing the green hydrogen sector in Vietnam. The Ministry of Industry and Trade is ready to create favorable conditions for French enterprises to participate in developing the green hydrogen sector in Vietnam on the principles of harmonious benefits, shared risks, in accordance with Vietnamese regulations.
Deputy Minister Nguyen Hoang Long said that the Ministry of Industry and Trade is currently coordinating with international partners to actively implement the JETP Fair Energy Transition Program and establish 8 specialized Working Groups, including the Group on Green Hydrogen Development. In addition, France is one of the active partners in supporting Vietnam in implementing the JETP program, so Air Liquide can coordinate with the Vietnamese Embassy in France to study and utilize French resources to develop green hydrogen production projects in Vietnam. In addition, Deputy Minister Nguyen Hoang Long also asked French enterprises in general and Air Liquide in particular to share management experience with Vietnamese enterprises, while promoting the technology transfer process in the field of green hydrogen in Vietnam.
Deputy Minister Nguyen Hoang Long emphasized and affirmed that, within its functions, duties and powers, the Ministry of Industry and Trade will create the best conditions for investors, including Air Liquide Group.
