The funeral of former President Tran Duc Luong will begin at 7:00 a.m. on May 24 at the National Funeral Home, No. 5 Tran Thanh Tong, Hanoi; Thong Nhat Hall, Ho Chi Minh City; and Hall T50, Quang Ngai Provincial Military Command, No. 142 Le Trung Dinh, Quang Ngai City.
According to the Organizing Committee, by 5:00 p.m. on May 24, 655 delegations (about 9,300 people) had come to visit, send wreaths, and express condolences to the family of formerPresident Tran Duc Luong.

At 7:00 a.m. today (May 25), the memorial service for former President Tran Duc Luong will take place simultaneously at the three locations above. The coffin of former President Tran Duc Luong will be moved to Noi Bai airport and then to Chu Lai airport (Quang Nam) in the afternoon of the same day. The burial ceremony will be held at 3:00 p.m. at Pho Khanh cemetery, Duc Pho town, Quang Ngai province.
Former President Tran Duc Luong passed away at 10:51 p.m. on May 20, 2025 at his home due to old age and poor health, at the age of 88. The former President was born in Pho Khanh commune, Duc Pho town, Quang Ngai province; was a geological engineer, honorary professor of the Russian Academy of Sciences (since 2001); member of the Standing Committee of the 8th Politburo; member of the 9th Politburo, member of the Party Central Committee for 5 consecutive terms from the 5th term (provisional) to the 9th term; National Assembly delegate for the 7th, 8th and 10th terms.
In 1987, Comrade Tran Duc Luong was assigned as Vice Chairman of the Council of Ministers. From 1992, he held the position of Deputy Prime Minister for a full term and was elected President from September 1997 to June 2006. He was awarded the Gold Star Order and the 65-year Party membership badge.
