Prime Minister: Need to synchronously complete routes connecting to Long Thanh airport

The above information was emphasized by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh during his visit, inspection and working session at the Long Thanh airport project ( Dong Nai province) on the morning of December 3.

The Prime Minister spoke at the inspection of Long Thanh airport project.

At the inspection, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh highly appreciated the efforts of the Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) and contractors.

The Prime Minister requested that Long Thanh airport be basically completed by the end of 2025, mobilizing machinery and equipment and making the most of human resources. If there are any difficulties or problems, the investor and construction unit must report to the superiors for timely resolution.

For the second runway project, the Prime Minister requested the investor to quickly complete procedures in December 2024 so that construction can begin in January 2025. As for the first terminal and runway project, progress must also be accelerated to bring the project to the finish line on schedule.

"We will try to mobilize construction workers to work in three shifts, through the sun and rain, to speed up the construction of the first terminal and runway. Phase 2 of the airport also needs to be studied and leveled soon," said the Prime Minister.

Regarding component project 4, the Prime Minister requested the Ministry of Transport to commit to completing it in 2025, and any delays must be compensated. The Prime Minister also requested that the connecting roads to the airport and the road connecting Tan Son Nhat airport to Long Thanh must also be completed synchronously when Long Thanh airport comes into operation.

On the investor side, Mr. Vu The Phiet, Chairman of the Board of Directors of ACV, said that hundreds of construction teams are being deployed at the construction site with nearly 7,000 experts, engineers, workers, laborers and nearly 3,000 pieces of equipment.

According to ACV leaders, the 5.10 passenger terminal package is expected to complete all construction before December 2025, complete the facade installation before March 2026 in parallel with the completion and installation of equipment for trial operation from the beginning of 2026 and strive to complete before August 31, 2026.

For Package 4.6, the joint venture contractor has mobilized 2,035 personnel and 509 pieces of equipment. The first runway is expected to be completed by April 30, 2025.

Package 4.7 for construction and installation of equipment for the airport parking lot and other projects has just started about a month ago. The joint venture contractor has mobilized 772 personnel and 225 pieces of machinery and equipment.

Package 4.8 is currently focusing on implementing priority projects to serve calibration flights, including line 5, 80m long, at the intersection with the runway; line 4, 50m long...

Package 4.9 for construction and installation of aircraft fuel supply system equipment is currently constructing camps and designing. Package 6.12 for traffic routes T1, T2, the joint venture contractor has mobilized 895 personnel and 127 machines and equipment to the construction site.
