Prime Minister attends the opening ceremony of FPT's Middle East headquarters

On the afternoon of October 30, local time, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended the opening ceremony of FPT Corporation's Middle East headquarters in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding between FPT and THIQAH Company.

Also attending were Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son and leaders of ministries and sectors of the two countries.

The opening ceremony took place during the Prime Minister's working trip to attend the 8th Future Investment Initiative Conference (FII8) and visit and work in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

FPT said that this activity is part of FPT's global expansion strategy to meet the growing demand for digital services and solutions in the world. This is the first time a Vietnamese enterprise has been licensed to open a regional office in Saudi Arabia - the capital of the largest economy in the Gulf, affirming FPT's commitment to the country's digital transformation with Vision 2030.

With the aim of attracting multinational companies to set up regional offices in Riyadh to expand their operations across the Middle East and North Africa, the Saudi Arabian government has initiated the “Regional Offices” program. This program is also part of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 initiative to position Saudi Arabia as a leading economic and investment hub, promoting national growth and innovation.

As the first Vietnamese enterprise licensed to operate in Saudi Arabia, FPT is ready to meet the growing demand for modern technology in the Middle East, a region with a young and tech-savvy population, with many economic sectors being increasingly digitized.

FPT's AI-focused strategy, integrating AI into all of its services and solutions, is in line with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030, which aims to diversify the economy, promote innovation and improve public services through technological advancements.

Speaking at the event, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that after 25 years of establishing diplomatic relations, the concern is that economic, trade and investment relations between Vietnam and Saudi Arabia have not developed commensurate with the political and diplomatic relations and the aspirations of the people of the two countries. Therefore, the two sides need to take action, put forward specific cooperation programs and projects to enhance economic relations, connect the two economies, complement each other, develop together, and win together.

The Prime Minister shared the view that "resources come from thinking, motivation comes from innovation, strength comes from people", time and intelligence are also important resources to create success.

According to the Prime Minister, if FPT wants to achieve long-term, sustainable success and create synergy, it must follow Saudi Arabia's development trends of digital economy, green economy, circular economy, sharing economy, knowledge economy, emerging industries related to artificial intelligence, cloud computing, internet of things, etc.

At the same time, FPT needs to operate in compliance with the law, harmonize the interests of the State, people and businesses, actively carry out social activities; consult and learn the thinking, breakthrough vision and strategy of Saudi Arabia to surpass itself, successfully cooperate in investment, contribute to the strong and prosperous development of each country and the happiness and prosperity of the people of the two countries.
