*Commending workers and laborers at Dong Giao Food Export Joint Stock Company (DOVECO), and visiting people working in the pineapple fields in the company's raw material area, the Prime Minister acknowledged, praised and highly appreciated the efforts and achievements of the Company - a place that President Ho Chi Minh once visited.
Established in 1955 (Dong Giao State Farm), after 68 years of construction and development, DOVECO has increasingly affirmed its position and brand in the market and is one of the leading fruit and vegetable processing units in the country.
The company has 3 factories in Ninh Binh, Gia Lai and Son La, with a capacity of 136,000 tons of fruit per year with modern machinery imported from G7 countries.
The company has established 4 main raw material areas in Ninh Binh (more than 3,500 hectares of pineapple land), raw material areas in some provinces of the Red River Delta and North Central Coast with a total area of 4,500 hectares, raw material areas in the Northwest (8,500 hectares), and raw material areas in the Central Highlands (8,500 hectares).
The company has successfully applied organic technology and high technology such as using drip irrigation systems, plastic film, organic fertilizers and bio-fertilizers; the vegetables produced meet the high demands of developed countries right from the field. Doveco products have been recognized by international standards.
In 2023, the Company's revenue will reach 3,000 billion VND. Of which, export turnover accounts for 80%, the main export markets are the EU (63%), China (15%), Japan (13%), the US (5%)...
The company provides jobs for over 31,000 workers with an average salary of 8-10 million VND/month, and only pays dividends to shareholders of about 14.5%/year.
In addition to business development, the Company cares about the lives of its employees and actively participates in social security activities; prioritizing job creation for ethnic minority workers. In 2023, the Company donated 6 billion VND to hunger eradication and poverty reduction activities in Ninh Binh, Son La and Gia Lai.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh was pleased that the Company has developed rapidly and sustainably, and is a successful model of transformation from a state-owned farm to a joint stock company with appropriate methods, affirming that the Party and State's guidelines and policies are correct.
Thereby, creating jobs for people, including farmers, with incomes equivalent to those in the industrial sector; continuing to improve the leadership capacity and fighting strength of the Party organization and Party members; actively participating in ensuring social security; participating in the global supply chain; contributing to greening the region.
The Prime Minister requested the Company to continue and promote its tradition for further development, focusing on building and developing its brand, especially the Dong Giao pineapple brand; building raw material areas with large-scale fields; investing in the application of science and technology, innovation, digital transformation, circular economy, green production, emission reduction, e-commerce development, development of good varieties, building geographical indications, ensuring food safety and hygiene; strengthening cooperation and association with other businesses and localities, working with banks to mobilize capital; expanding production scale, increasing productivity, diversifying markets, products, supply chains, boosting exports; increasing income for people and workers, paying more attention to cultural and sports institutions, improving the material and spiritual life of workers and laborers.
The Prime Minister said that the Government, ministries, branches and localities will continue to implement tasks and solutions to facilitate businesses and people in production and business, create jobs and livelihoods for people, especially promoting three strategic breakthroughs in institutions, infrastructure and human resources, in the spirit of "open policies, smooth infrastructure, smart governance". In particular, the North-South expressway in the East and the East-West route in Ninh Binh province, when completed, will create very favorable conditions for the Company to develop.
Along with that, the Prime Minister hopes that the team of cadres, workers and factory laborers need to continue to promote their responsibility to create new momentum, new motivation, new confidence, new victories, contributing to building the homeland and country, improving the material and spiritual life of the people.
*On the same afternoon, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh inspected the construction progress and visited and encouraged workers at the East-West road construction site in Ninh Binh province.
The route, invested by Ninh Binh province, is about 60 km long, passing through 4 districts and cities, connecting the westernmost with the easternmost part of Ninh Binh province, from the mountainous area of Nho Quan district to the coastal district of Kim Son.
This is the largest inter-regional transport connection project ever in Ninh Binh province, of great significance, connecting expressways, national highways, provincial roads, tourist areas, industrial parks, industrial clusters of the province and the polar regions; connecting mountainous areas with coastal areas; connecting economic centers with the World Cultural and Natural Heritage of Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex, Cuc Phuong mountainous area and Kim Son coastal area with great potential; opening up space, creating new space and momentum to promote rapid and sustainable socio-economic development of Ninh Binh province.
Phase 1 is 23 km long, with a total investment of over VND 1,913 billion, of which the central budget is VND 500 billion; Ninh Binh province budget is over VND 1,413 billion. The total land area for project implementation is nearly 190 hectares, with 991 households affected (of which 136 households must be resettled).
This is a group A project, with an implementation schedule of 2022-2026, and is also a project responding to the emulation movement "Promoting the development of synchronous and modern infrastructure; practicing thrift and combating waste" launched by the Prime Minister and the Central Emulation and Reward Council.
With the determination and efforts of Ninh Binh province and the contractor (Xuan Truong - Thanh Trung construction joint venture), the project has so far completed all site clearance work, basically completed the main items of the project and opened the route; striving to complete and put the entire route into operation by the end of 2024, shortening the construction progress by about 2 years compared to the progress of Group A projects.
Conducting a field survey and presenting gifts to the project construction units, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested agencies and units to continue to control the progress, improve the quality of the project, ensure technical, aesthetic, safety and environmental sanitation; prevent negativity and corruption; care for the lives of people affected by the project, ensuring that people in the project area relocated to a new place have a life equal to or better than their old place.
The Prime Minister requested Ninh Binh province and relevant agencies to study the shortest and most direct route for the entire project, avoiding detours. If it passes through Thanh Hoa, Thanh Hoa should participate in the investment and construction, thereby increasing connectivity between localities and exploiting the route more effectively.
At the same time, the Prime Minister requested the Ministry of Transport, ministries, branches, Ninh Binh province and localities in the region to continue researching and synchronously connecting Ninh Binh's East-West route with important national and regional traffic axes, especially the North-South expressway in the east, the Hai Phong - Thai Binh - Nam Dinh - Ninh Binh coastal expressway, the Ho Chi Minh road, strengthening inter-regional connectivity between the Northwest region (Hoa Binh, Son La) with the Red River Delta, the North Central region, etc.
