On the morning of February 8, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh led a Government delegation to visit and work at HS Hyosung Quang Nam Co., Ltd. Also participating were leaders of central ministries and branches.
On the side of Quang Nam province, attending the working session were Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Luong Nguyen Minh Triet; Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Duc Dung; Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation Le Van Dung.
HS Hyosung Quang Nam was established in Tam Thang Industrial Park in 2018, initially with a project of a curtain fabric factory on an area of over 13.7 hectares. Through the expansion investment process, the Company is now operating two projects with a total area of nearly 40 hectares, with a total investment of 452 million USD. This year, the Company is expected to continue to expand its scale and promote new projects, raising the total investment in Quang Nam to 1.34 billion USD, while increasing recruitment to meet production needs.
At the meeting, representatives of HS Hyosung Quang Nam Co., Ltd. proposed to the Prime Minister four main groups of contents, including: requesting the Government to soon complete the environmental impact assessment according to the addition of investment types to the expanded Tam Thang Industrial Park so that the company can continue to invest; loosening visa conditions for Koreans to facilitate the recruitment of workers as well as technical experts; requesting the Government to support state-owned enterprises such as Vinachem to develop and supply high-purity/high-concentration sulfuric acid for the company's 180 million USD Aramid project; providing financial support and tax incentives, implementing a breakthrough interest rate reduction policy for enterprises investing heavily in Vietnam.
Recognizing the contributions of HS Hyosung Quang Nam and Hyosung Group in choosing Vietnam as a place for cooperation and investment in production development, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized: The Government sets a target of 8% economic growth by 2025, so the People's Committee of Quang Nam province needs to focus on solutions to promote business development. At the same time, the Prime Minister requested the company to strictly comply with Vietnamese laws and agreements signed between the two countries. The Government, central ministries, branches and Quang Nam province are committed to creating favorable conditions for business development, especially removing institutional obstacles, reforming administrative procedures, and combating negativity and waste.
Many recommendations from businesses were considered and directed to be resolved by the Prime Minister and ministries and branches right at the meeting.
