Prime Minister: There will be a credit package of 500,000 billion VND, interest rates 2-3% lower than normal

On April 21, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and National Assembly deputies from Can Tho city met with voters representing business associations, young entrepreneurs' associations, women entrepreneurs' associations and typical businesses in Can Tho city before the 9th session of the 15th National Assembly.

Gold prices are not transparent, market information is fragmented

At the meeting, voter Ngo Thi Thao, General Director of Hanagold Jewelry Joint Stock Company, reflected that in recent times, the Government, especially the Prime Minister, has paid great attention and given many instructions. The State Bank has also issued many specific policies to contribute to stabilizing the domestic gold market, ensuring that it is suitable for the actual needs of domestic people and world market trends.

However, the jewelry industry currently has some shortcomings such as non-transparent listed gold prices, fragmented market information, uncontrolled high buy-sell spreads, and lack of common transaction standards.

"Recommend that the Government direct relevant ministries and branches to conduct early research and have orientations to promote digitalization of the jewelry industry, contributing to creating a more transparent, fair and modern gold trading market in the coming time," said Ms. Thao.

Meanwhile, many business leaders reflect that although the Government and the Prime Minister have issued many instructions to clear credit, in reality, many businesses, especially small and medium-sized enterprises, find it very difficult to access.

Voter Nguyen Chi Thao, Vice President of Can Tho City Business Association, proposed that the Government and relevant ministries consider and supplement specific policies to encourage and create favorable conditions for businesses to invest in housing for workers at suitable prices, meeting the ability and housing needs of workers.

On behalf of National Assembly deputies responding to voters' opinions and recommendations, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that National Assembly deputies receive all opinions and will reflect to the National Assembly issues within their authority.

Regarding the issue of access to capital, the Prime Minister affirmed that "I have directed the banks a lot". According to him, after Tet when the mobilization interest rate was about to increase, he issued two telegrams to rectify this, and now the interest rate has decreased.

"I have directed that there must be a loan package for young people to buy houses, because they are having difficulties with housing. They are people who have just graduated from school, just got married, and have just come from the countryside... Second, there is a 500,000 billion VND package to support science and technology and infrastructure.

According to the directive, banks will have a VND500,000 billion package with interest rates 2-3% lower than normal and procedures must be simple. For example, any business that wins a bid and has a decision can just show this and get a loan, don't have too complicated procedures and then can't get a loan," he said.

Regarding gold prices, the Prime Minister said that he is revising Decree 24/2012 on gold trading. Previously, to combat gold and dollarization, Decree 24 was created to manage the price, but now it is no longer suitable for the situation.

"Recently, the world gold price has increased, the domestic gold price has increased, some gold trading enterprises have hoarded goods, inflated prices, and smuggled goods. I request the Ministry of Public Security to be resolute in this matter. This is a crime and the Ministry of Public Security is doing it. Those who do good must be supported, conditions must be created, those who do wrong and commit crimes must be punished," he stated.

The Prime Minister also informed that he is directing the National Assembly to reduce value-added tax until the end of 2026 so that businesses can make long-term calculations. At the same time, there will be policies to reduce land rent, fees, and charges to create favorable conditions for businesses to develop.

Prime Minister impatient with sluggish construction projects in Can Tho

Also at the meeting with voters, the Prime Minister expressed dissatisfaction with the sluggish projects in Can Tho such as the Can Tho Oncology Hospital, the project to upgrade and expand National Highway 91 and the VSIP industrial park project.

Like the VSIP industrial park project, all places have started, but Can Tho has not finished leveling the ground.

"We must review, don't say much, we cannot do it for you," the Prime Minister noted and suggested that in work, we must clearly assign people, tasks, time, progress and authority.

According to the Prime Minister, the city's sluggishness in recent years is due to poor solidarity, lack of cohesion, and lack of intimacy. Recently, the central government discovered this and had to mobilize (city leaders - PV).

"If there is no unity between the top and the bottom, and no clear communication, how can we do anything?" he said.
