Losing friendly match with Poland, German 'tank' falls off the chain in shame

Five days ago, having just managed to draw 3-3 with Ukraine at home in Bremen, Germany continued their friendly against another Eastern European team, this time Poland and superstar Robert Lewandowski. The match at the Narodowy Stadium in Warsaw was quite attractive, with one side being a strong attacking team and the other playing a solid counter-attacking defense.

Jakub Blaszczykowski with 109 appearances for Poland

New coach Fernando Santos of the Polish national team still gives the responsibility of the attack to star Robert Lewandowski and next to him is 37-year-old striker Jakub Blaszczykowski, a former Dortmund player who currently plays for Wisla Krakow.

Before the match, Jakub Blaszczykowski was awarded the number 109 white and red shirt of the Polish national team, in recognition of his number of appearances for the "White Eagles". Meanwhile, Kai Havertz is in charge of spearheading the German national team's attack, playing alongside Chelsea strikers Florian Wirtz and Jamal Musiala.

In a fairly balanced match, in the 31st minute, Poland was awarded a corner kick and Sebastian Szymanski crossed the ball deep into the middle for Jakub Kiwior to head. The ball hit the ground and flew straight into the net, leaving goalkeeper Ter Stegen helpless. Center-back Jakub Kiwior just moved to play for Arsenal in the Premier League last season.

Germany had a chance to equalize shortly after, but Kai Havertz could not beat goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny in a one-on-one position. The "Spiderman" currently playing for Juventus then repeatedly denied the German strikers scoring opportunities, preserving the 1-0 victory for the "White Eagles" in the battle with the "Black Eagles".

This is Germany's third consecutive friendly without a win since March, starting with a 2-3 defeat to Belgium, a 3-3 draw with Ukraine and now a 0-1 loss to Poland.

Four days from now, "Die Mannschaf" will face Colombia at home at Leverkusen and this rather annoying South American opponent is completely capable of causing the German team to sink deeper into a crisis with no way out in sight after the unsuccessful 2022 World Cup.
