Thua Thien Hue conducts review of poor and near-poor households in 2023

TPO - The review of poor and near-poor households in Thua Thien Hue province (TT-Hue) will be carried out from September 1 to December 14, 2023, with a scope of implementation in 141 communes, wards and towns.

The Office of the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province recently issued a Plan to review poor and near-poor households according to multidimensional poverty standards for the period 2022-2025 and identify households working in agriculture , forestry, fishery, and salt production with an average living standard in 2023 in the province.

The review of poor and near-poor households in Thua Thien Hue province this time aims to identify, list, and classify accurately and fully the basic data and information on poor households, near-poor households, households escaping poverty, and households escaping near-poverty according to multidimensional poverty standards; thereby creating a basis for developing plans and solutions to reduce poverty and implementing poverty reduction and social security policies in 2024.

At the same time, identify households working in agriculture, forestry, and fishery with an average living standard to use as a basis for statistics to support health insurance card payments and other policies according to regulations.

According to this request, the review and identification of poor households, near-poor households, and households working in agriculture, forestry, fishery, and salt production with average living standards must have direct leadership and direction from Party committees, authorities, associations, unions, and people.

The review must be carried out in accordance with the procedures and instructions prescribed in the Prime Minister's Decision; the Consolidated Document of the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, ensuring the correct time schedule; ensuring accuracy according to the principles of publicity, transparency, fairness and democracy.

At the end of the review, it is necessary to accurately determine the number of poor households, near-poor households, households that have escaped poverty, households that have escaped near-poverty, and households working in agriculture, forestry, fishery, and salt production with average living standards, and submit it to competent authorities for appraisal, approval, recognition, storage, monitoring, and management.

Criteria and standards for poor and near-poor households are implemented according to the provisions of Decree No. 07/2021/ND-CP dated January 27, 2021 of the Government stipulating multidimensional poverty standards for the period 2021-2025.

The subjects of the review are all households listed in the list of poor households and near-poor households according to the results of the review of poor households and near-poor households according to the multidimensional poverty standards for the period 2022-2025 managed by the People's Committees of communes, wards and towns. In addition, there are a number of households that are not poor or near-poor households but have submitted a request for review or the locality proactively detects that the household is facing difficulties or risks during the year that are likely to fall into the category of poor or near-poor households. Households working in the fields of agriculture, forestry, fishery and salt production living in the province according to the provisions of the law on residence have a request for confirmation that the household has an average standard of living.

The scope of the review will be implemented in 141 communes, wards and towns in TT-Hue province. The implementation period is from September 1 to December 14, 2023.
