Promoting university training cooperation between Vietnam and the Federal Republic of Germany

On November 13, at the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET), Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Phuc had a working session with the delegation of the Ministry of Science and Arts of the Federal State of Hessen, Germany (HMWK) and the Federal Ministry of Education and Research of Germany (BMBF) led by Mr. Timon Gremmels, Minister of Science and Arts of the State of Hessen.

Expressing his joy and gratitude for the welcome of the Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training, Mr. Timon Gremmels, Minister of Science and Arts of the German Federal State of Hessen, said: Vietnam and Germany have a close and long-standing relationship. As strategic partners, the Vietnam - Germany relationship has been constantly strengthened, nurtured and developed, including cooperation in the field of education and training. Currently, the two countries are carrying out many cooperative activities towards the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations in 2025.

One of the achievements of the cooperation in the field of education and training in recent times is to become a close partner in building and developing the Vietnam-Germany University. The Vietnam-Germany University was established with the mission of becoming the leading research university in Southeast Asia and the number one choice for students and scholars in the fields of intelligent engineering, information technology, business, and economics in Vietnam by 2030.

With the investment in facilities, equipment as well as teaching staff, Mr. Timon Gremmels hopes that in the coming time, Vietnam-Germany University will have important solutions and directions in management, administration, human resources, research development, finance and investment in school development activities.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Phuc said that the Ministry of Education and Training has been actively preparing educational content for the celebration of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Germany in 2025.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Phuc affirmed that with the long-standing relationship between the two countries, the Ministry of Education and Training is always ready to promote cooperation in the field of education and training with the Federal Republic of Germany, especially becoming a partner in training in the fields of strength of both sides such as economics, engineering, mechanics or new, high-tech fields...

Regarding the development roadmap of Vietnam-Germany University (VGU) in the coming time, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Phuc shared that the core mission of the school has been determined. Currently, for higher education institutions, the most necessary thing is to build a specific, consistent strategy and have a roadmap for investment and development, and Vietnam-Germany University also needs to identify such issues to have strong, long-term development in human resource training and attracting students.

At the meeting, the two sides discussed a number of specific issues such as human resource management, investment funding, development strategy, development of scientific research activities, teaching staff, etc. at Vietnam-Germany University.
