Promoting cooperation between Khon Ken province and localities of Vietnam

On June 13, Consul General Dinh Hoang Linh had a courtesy visit and worked with Mr. Kraison Kongchalad, Governor of Khon Ken Province, Thailand.

The meeting took place in a friendly and open atmosphere, demonstrating the spirit of friendly cooperation between Vietnam and Thailand.

Also attending the meeting were Consulate General officials and leaders of the departments of commerce,education , culture and tourism of Khon Ken. At the reception, Consul General Dinh Hoang Linh sincerely thanked Governor Kraison Kongchalad for taking the time to receive the delegation. The Consul General expressed his appreciation for the kind gesture of Governor Kraison Kongchalad, who, despite his busy schedule, had just returned to Khon Ken after a long business trip and went straight from the airport to the Consulate General to attend the funeral and sign the condolence book in memory of formerPresident Tran Duc Luong on May 24. This action demonstrated the deep affection and special concern of the Khon Ken provincial leaders for Vietnam.

Consul General Dinh Hoang Linh acknowledged and appreciated the efforts of the Khon Ken provincial government in promoting cooperative activities with localities of Vietnam, especially the Central provinces and Da Nang city. Consul General Dinh Hoang Linh emphasized the potential and strategic significance of the cooperative relationship between Khon Ken and Da Nang - two important centers of economy , education and international exchange of each country.

Assessing the upgrading of Vietnam-Thailand relations to Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, opening a new chapter in the history of bilateral relations, creating a foundation and many important cooperation opportunities, Consul General Dinh Hoang Linh hopes that the two localities will continue to promote more substantive cooperation, bringing practical benefits to the people of the two countries, aiming to build the Khon Ken-Da Nang relationship into a typical model for local twinning cooperation between Vietnam and Thailand.

On this occasion, Consul General Dinh Hoang Linh proposed that the two sides coordinate to organize practical activities in 2026 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Thailand diplomatic relations (1976-2026). The expected activities include: organizing trade and tourism fairs, business networking forums, seminars to share experiences in economic development cooperation, cultural and artistic exchange programs and people-to-people diplomacy in Khon Ken and the northeastern provinces of Thailand. Consul General Dinh Hoang Linh respectfully invites Governor Kraison Kongchalad and leaders of departments and branches of Khon Ken province to attend a series of activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam organized by the Consulate General at the end of August 2025.

Governor Kraison Kongchalad affirmed that Khon Ken province will continue to create favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community living and doing business in the locality.

Governor Kraison Kongchalad expressed his delight at the results of cooperation achieved in recent times, agreed with the proposals of the Consul General and affirmed that Khon Ken province is always ready to accompany the Vietnamese Consulate General in organizing activities towards the 50th anniversary of bilateral relations. Mr. Kraison Kongchalad also affirmed that Khon Ken province will continue to create favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community living and doing business in the locality, considering this an important bridge to promote the friendly relations between the people of the two countries.

The meeting and working session contributed to consolidating and strengthening the cooperative relationship between the Consulate General of Vietnam in Khon Ken and Khon Ken province, creating a solid foundation for moving towards new, deeper and more substantial developments within the framework of the Vietnam-Thailand Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
