Implementing cultural criteria in new rural construction in Tho Tien commune

(Baothanhhoa.vn) - In the new rural construction, culture plays an important role. Recognizing this, the Party Committee and the government in Tho Tien commune (Trieu Son) have paid attention to leading and directing the effective implementation of cultural criteria in the new rural construction. Thereby, improving the cultural and spiritual life of the people, creating a vibrant and united competitive atmosphere in the community.

Aiming at building an advanced new-style rural village, village 4 has promoted propaganda, mobilized people to renovate, build welfare works and local movements and activities. People actively participate in economic development, open roads, build cultural houses, and clean up the environment. The village's appearance is increasingly spacious, the landscape is always bright - green - clean - beautiful; village roads and alleys are upgraded and expanded; cultural houses and sports areas are newly built and renovated.

Mr. Hoang Quoc Viet, Party cell secretary and head of village 4, said: “All households actively responded and participated in local movements. In 2023, villagers and children living far from home contributed more than 400 million VND to upgrade the cultural house and renovate the cultural house grounds. Cultural, artistic, physical education and sports activities took place enthusiastically. Thanks to mobilizing people to implement the criteria, especially the cultural criteria, the village reached the advanced NTM village finish line in 2024.”

Implementing cultural criteria in new rural construction, the front working committee of village 1 has integrated the implementation of cultural criteria with the movement "All people unite to build a cultural life" (TDĐKXDĐSVH). The village has promoted and mobilized people to actively participate in cultural - artistic, physical training and sports activities; well implemented the contents of the TDĐKXDĐSVH movement, preserved and promoted cultural values, good customs and practices; united to help each other in production and daily life. Thanks to that, the village has seen typical examples in economic development and building happy families.

A typical example is Mr. Tran Duy Nam's family, which has three generations living together, has been recognized for many years as a cultural family and is a model in economic development. Mr. Tran Duy Nam said: “My family has always actively implemented the movement of physical training, building a cultural life and building a new countryside in the locality. Family members always maintain a harmonious lifestyle, love and respect for each other. Grandparents and parents are always exemplary, children and grandchildren are obedient. In 2022, my family successfully converted the inefficient rice land model to aquaculture combined with service business. Along with building a prosperous and happy family, my family also actively participates in movements launched by the locality, contributing to the development of our homeland."

In the process of building new rural areas and advanced new rural areas, Tho Tien commune has always focused on implementing cultural criteria. Up to now, the system of cultural and sports institutions from commune to village has been completed. The commune has a cultural center with an area of ​​over 610m2 with full functional rooms and equipment to ensure event organization. The sports field and stadium with an area of ​​13,800m2 meet the standards to ensure the organization of local sports and cultural competitions/activities. 6/6 villages have cultural houses and sports areas with an area of ​​500m2 to over 1,000m2, equipped with equipment, facilities and outdoor sports equipment to ensure good service for the cultural and sports needs of the people.

Cultural, artistic, physical education and sports activities are organized regularly, attracting a large number of people to participate. The commune has established cultural and artistic clubs, preserving and promoting traditional cultural values. Up to now, each village has 2-3 clubs such as volleyball, folk dance, and health care. The cultural and spiritual life of the people is increasingly improved. About 45% of people participate in physical education, sports, cultural and artistic activities on the occasion of local events. The rate of cultural families reaches 93.61%.

Secretary of the Tho Tien Commune Party Committee Nguyen Thi Thanh said: “In order to implement cultural criteria in the new rural construction, the commune has linked the implementation of the movement of physical training and sports to the new rural construction, considering this a key task. The commune has closely followed the instructions of the superiors, developed a plan to implement the movement of physical training and sports to the new rural construction in the locality in a flexible manner, suitable to the actual situation. During the implementation process, the commune has focused on building cultural families, cultural residential areas and perfecting the system of cultural and sports institutions; and increased the organization of cultural and sports activities”.

Thanks to the consensus of local Party committees, authorities and people in implementing the movement of physical training and sports for building new rural areas associated with building new rural areas, the appearance of Tho Tien commune has changed significantly, the cultural, spiritual and economic life of the people has been improved. These factors have become a solid foundation for Tho Tien commune to complete the goal of reaching the advanced new rural commune finish line by 2024 and complete socio-economic goals.
