In 2018, the Provincial People's Committee issued Decision No. 2167 on the implementation of the project "Conservation and development of the value of peach trees and organization of the peach blossom festival in Lang Son". The project identified organizing the peach blossom festival as one of four key solutions to promote the local tourism image. By the end of 2021, the province officially announced its tourism logo and slogan, featuring a stylized image of Mau Son mountain and peach blossoms, accompanied by the slogan: "Who will go to Lang Son with me...". This brand consistency has created a solid foundation for Lang Son to build cultural spaces linked to heritage, where peach blossoms become a connecting thread between nature and people. The annual peach blossom festival is no longer a standalone event but is designed as a series of integrated activities, from exhibiting rare peach varieties to incorporating intangible art forms such as Then singing, Sli singing, Luon singing, and lion dance.
Mr. Luu Ba Mac, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said: Organized annually, the peach blossom festival not only honors heritage values but also serves as a catalyst for local socio -economic development. Through linking cultural preservation with tourism development, Lang Son province is gradually asserting its position and making peach blossoms a distinctive tourism brand of the province.
The highlight of the event series is the exhibition space at Chi Lang Park and tourism products at beautiful peach orchards throughout the province. From the beautiful peach orchard competitions, after 8 years of implementation, peach orchard tourism has spread from 5 model orchards (in 2019) to nearly 20 orchards across the province, with a total peach orchard area reaching nearly 600 hectares. Many areas have formed specialized cultivation zones serving peach orchard tourism, such as Khanh Khe, Loc Binh, Cong Son, Tuan Son communes, Luong Van Tri ward, Ky Lua ward, etc. Many families have developed peach orchard models for tourism, such as Ms. Hoang Thi Hoa's household in Loc Binh commune, which has expanded from a few hundred trees to over 1,000 trees on an area of 8,500 m2. The effectiveness of peach blossom tourism is further demonstrated in the case of Quang Lac commune (formerly Lang Son city), now Luong Van Tri ward, which has successfully organized 8 peach blossom fairs, attracting an average of 3,000 - 5,000 visitors each year.
To promote the image of Lang Son's peach blossoms, the Provincial Center for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion (XTTM&DL) has developed specialized peach blossom garden tours, printed over 10,000 brochures annually about peach blossom tourism, and intensified communication on smart tourism platforms. In particular, the introduction of the "baby peach blossom" mascot and souvenir products such as teddy bears and keychains has helped make Lang Son tourism more accessible and memorable for visitors from all over.
Entering 2026, the tourism brand centered around peach blossoms began to reap the rewards, showing breakthrough signs right from the start of the new year with nearly 3,000 visitors entering through the Huu Nghi International Border Gate on January 1st, 2026. Notably, the Provincial Center for Trade Promotion, Trade and Tourism organized a welcoming ceremony for the first group of 40 Chinese tourists, presenting them with meaningful gifts: handbags bearing the Lang Son tourism brand identity, prominently featuring images of peach blossoms, Mau Son mountain, and the "baby peach blossom" mascot.
Ms. Wei Xue Fang, a tourist from Hainan, China, excitedly shared: “I was truly surprised and touched to receive such a warm welcome as soon as I stepped through the border gate. The gifts you gave me are not only beautiful but also very thoughtful. I will take these gifts home to always remember the hospitality of Lang Son.”
Following its success, the 2026 Peach Blossom Festival, themed "The Beauty of Lang Son's Peach Blossoms - Connecting the World," will officially take place from January 1st to March 16th, 2026, featuring a variety of cultural, sports, and tourism activities. Spring 2026 has begun with blooming peach orchards and radiant smiles from domestic and international tourists, promising a flourishing year for tourism and making Lang Son an unmissable destination on the tourism map of Vietnam and the world.
