"The patient is doing very well and appears to have made a full recovery, with no ill effects that we know of. The patient can move the mouse around the screen with his mind," billionaire Musk, the boss of Neuralink, shared on social network X.

The American tech tycoon said the patient was acting normally and was under the control of doctors. Neuralink is trying to get more clicks from the patient.

The announcement from the billionaire born in 1971 took place in the context that last month Neuralink successfully implanted a chip into its first patient after being approved by US authorities for human trials in September 2023.

The company said the study uses a robot to perform surgery, placing a brain-computer interface implant into the area of the brain that controls the patient's intention to move.

Still according to Neuralink, the company's initial goal is to allow people to control a computer cursor or keyboard with just their thoughts.

Billionaire Elon Musk has big ambitions for Neuralink, claiming he will soon push for chip implant surgery to treat conditions such as obesity, autism, depression and schizophrenia.

Neuralink has repeatedly faced calls for scrutiny over the safety protocols for implanting chips into human brains, The Street reported.

Last month, the company was fined for violating US Department of Transportation regulations regarding the transportation of hazardous materials.
