Actively fight against corruption, waste and negativity

On the afternoon of December 1, at the Government Headquarters, Comrade Pham Minh Chinh, Politburo member, Secretary of the Government Party Committee, Prime Minister chaired the conference to review the work of preventing and combating corruption, negativity, waste and waste during the 13th Party Congress term, organized by the Government Party Committee.

Attending the event were comrade Nguyen Hoa Binh , Politburo member, Deputy Secretary of the Government Party Committee, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister, Deputy Head of the Central Steering Committee on preventing and combating corruption, waste and negativity; comrades of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Ministers, Deputy Secretaries of the Government Party Committee, leaders of ministries, branches, Government agencies, Party agencies, National Assembly, and Vietnam Fatherland Front.

Implementing Plan No. 65-KH/BCĐTW, dated July 11, 2025 of the Central Steering Committee on preventing and combating corruption, waste, and negativity on summarizing the work of preventing and combating corruption, waste, and negativity during the 13th Party Congress term, the Government Party Committee has issued documents to organize the implementation of the summary within the Party Committee and the Government.

The Party Committee, the Government, and the Prime Minister have resolutely directed relevant agencies to improve the effectiveness of detecting and handling corruption, waste, and negativity, and have achieved many positive results. Many serious cases of corruption, waste, and negativity, including cases that existed many years ago, have been detected, investigated, and handled strictly, publicly, and in accordance with the law by the agencies, and have been recognized and highly appreciated by the Party and State leaders, and have received the people's sympathy and support.

At the same time, the work of detecting and handling corruption, waste and negativity is always under the direct and comprehensive leadership of the Politburo and the Secretariat. The Steering Committee strictly implements the provisions of the law and the Party's regulations, ensuring the principle that all citizens are equal before the law, all violations of the law are detected and handled promptly and strictly, without letting criminals escape, and without wrongfully accusing innocent people.

In his opening speech at the Conference, Deputy Secretary of the Government Party Committee, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh stated that the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress identified one of the key tasks of the term as: Fighting against bureaucracy, corruption, waste, negativity, group interests, and manifestations of self-evolution and self-transformation within the Party. One of the bright spots of the term is the task of Party building and rectification, including the fight against corruption, negativity, and waste.

In the overall success of the work of preventing and combating corruption, negativity and waste, the Government Party Committee has a very important role and contributions in organizing the fight against corruption, in resolutely organizing inspection activities and strictly handling acts of corruption, negativity and waste, in accordance with Party regulations and State laws with the spirit of "no forbidden zones and no exceptions".

Implementing Plan No. 65 of the Central Steering Committee, the Government Party Committee has summarized this work from grassroots Party organizations and organized a conference to summarize the work of preventing and combating corruption, waste and negativity during the 13th Congress term, aiming at a national conference to summarize the work of preventing and combating corruption, waste and negativity; demonstrating the seriousness and high responsibility of the Government in resolutely and persistently fighting against corruption, waste and negativity.

The Permanent Deputy Prime Minister stated that the Conference needs to objectively and comprehensively assess the achieved results; at the same time, point out the limitations, difficulties, obstacles and causes in the implementation of the work of preventing and combating corruption, waste and negativity; from there, draw lessons, propose key tasks and solutions to improve the effectiveness of the work of preventing and combating waste and negativity in the coming time.

In that spirit, comrade Nguyen Hoa Binh suggested that delegates focus on discussing 5 main contents.

Firstly, on the leadership and direction of the Government Party Committee and the Prime Minister in implementing the Party's policies and legal regulations on preventing and combating corruption, waste and negativity; especially the conclusions of the Central Steering Committee and the Standing Committee of the Central Steering Committee.

Second, assessment of the work of building and perfecting institutions to prevent and combat corruption, waste, and negativity; the work of inspection, examination, detection, and handling of corruption, waste, and negativity.

Third, management, supervision, and implementation of mechanisms and policies regulating personnel work; implementation of regulations on power control, prevention and combat of corruption, waste, and negativity.

Fourth, the results of task implementation, key and breakthrough solutions to improve the effectiveness of this work; especially in handling projects and works that are behind schedule, backlogged, prolonged, and at risk of causing waste and negativity.

Fifth, propaganda and education work, building a culture of integrity, no corruption, waste, and negativity; promoting the role and responsibility of media agencies and people in preventing and combating corruption, waste, negativity and international cooperation in preventing and combating corruption.
