Besides practicing coordination, coach Kim Sang-sik also divided the team into two practice matches to evaluate the performance of each position and test tactical options before finalizing the official roster.

VHO - The U22 Vietnam team had their first training session at Ba Ria Stadium (Ba Ria Ward, Ho Chi Minh City), officially starting the important final preparation phase for the 33rd SEA Games.

Currently, U22 Vietnam has 25 players training in Ba Ria. The remaining three players of Hanoi Police Club, including Ly Duc, Minh Phuc and Dinh Bac, will join the team on November 28, after completing the match at AFC Champions League Two.

Before the end of the training session in Vung Tau, Coach Kim Sang-sik will shorten the list to 23 players for the 33rd SEA Games. This has created a positive competitive atmosphere within the whole team.

Before the training session, striker Nguyen Thanh Nhan shared his feelings after the first three days of training with the team. He said the whole team is gradually adapting to the training intensity and he will try harder to achieve the best performance.

According to Thanh Nhan, U22 Thailand and U22 Indonesia are the two biggest opponents of U22 Vietnam.

Talking about preparation for physical fitness, Thanh Nhan said coach Kim Sang-sik still maintains high intensity exercises to help players maintain good physical fitness before the tournament.

Before the news that Group B of U22 Vietnam might change the competition location because Songkhla was affected by flooding, Thanh Nhan affirmed that the whole team was not greatly affected and still focused on the goal ahead.

Assessing the competitiveness of U22 Vietnam at SEA Games 33, the striker of U22 Vietnam said that Indonesia and Thailand are two formidable opponents, but the biggest challenge is still the U22 Vietnam team itself.

The players tried their best to complete the training program set by the coaching staff.

“We have to overcome ourselves and improve every day to aim for the gold medal,” Thanh Nhan shared.

At the 33rd SEA Games, U22 Vietnam is in Group B with U22 Malaysia and U22 Laos. According to the schedule, the team will face U22 Laos at 6:30 p.m. on December 4, then face U22 Malaysia at 6:30 p.m. on December 11.

The goal of coach Kim Sang-sik and his team is a ticket to the final, and more importantly, a gold medal after only winning a bronze medal at SEA Games 32.
