Tien Giang is bustling with festivals, attracting tourists on the occasion of April 30 and May 1

Since the end of April, localities in Tien Giang province have simultaneously organized many unique cultural programs. In My Tho city, Hung Vuong Square is the highlight of the 2nd Cultural, Sports and Tourism Festival with many exciting activities such as: Cultural - tourism connection space, typical culinary area and river tour introduction program. In particular, the workshop on promoting the value of historical - cultural relics to serve tourism development attracted the attention of experts and tourists.

Along with the art program celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day, which attracted thousands of people to watch, many performances praising the homeland, country, and revolutionary traditions were elaborately staged, leaving many emotions for the viewers.

According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Tien Giang province, on April 30, the whole province welcomed 22,060 visitors, an increase of 162% over the same period; including 1,751 international visitors, an increase of 3% over the same period.

Specifically, the central area such as: Hung Vuong Square, Thoi Son Islet, Dong Tam Snake Farm, Lien Hoa Phat Duong... attracted 15,693 visitors (including 1,403 international visitors). The western area such as: Tan Phong Islet, Dong Hoa Hiep Ancient Village, Truc Lam Chanh Giac Zen Monastery, Dong Thap Muoi Conservation Area attracted 2,573 visitors (including 348 international visitors). The eastern area such as: Tan Thanh Beach Tourist Area, Sau Hoi Apple Garden and historical - cultural relics attracted 3,794 visitors.

In addition, from early morning on April 30, a large number of people and tourists gathered at Tet Mau Than Park and My Tho Cruise Port to watch the 50th Anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification live on large LED screens. The solemn and emotional atmosphere spread everywhere, expressing national pride and deep gratitude to the generations who sacrificed for the independence and reunification of the country.

INTER-PROVINCIAL TOURISM IS BOOMING DURING THE HOLIDAYS

Thanks to favorable weather and careful preparation, the number of tourists to Tien Giang during the holiday increased significantly compared to the same period last year. This holiday saw many groups of war veterans visiting historical sites in the province, including the Rach Gam - Xoai Mut historical victory site in Kim Son commune, Chau Thanh district.

Nature lovers have also visited the Dong Thap Muoi Ecological Reserve in Thanh Tan Commune, Tan Phuoc District in large numbers. With the advantage of more than 100 hectares of primeval alum forests and many rare bird species, the reserve is chosen by many tourists to visit. According to the Reserve Management Board, on April 30 and May 1, more than 300 visitors came to visit the reserve.

Dong Hoa Hiep ancient village (Cai Be district) has long been a familiar destination when coming to Tien Giang on holidays and Tet. At Ba Duc ancient house, on April 30 and May 1, more than 500 visitors came to visit the ancient house, the fruit garden and lunch. According to the owner of Ba Duc ancient house, the number of visitors is equivalent to previous years. This year, the government has renovated and upgraded the road in front of the house, so visitors can visit more conveniently.

On April 30 alone, Dong Tam Snake Farm attracted 2,500 visitors. According to the Snake Farm Management Board, on this occasion, the snake farm has many additional programs such as: Giving gifts to visitors whose birthdays fall on April 30, organizing lucky draws to attract tourists.

In addition, at Thoi Son Islet tourist destination - one of the outstanding destinations of Tien Giang eco-tourism, has attracted thousands of visitors from inside and outside the province to visit and experience. The cool green space typical of the Western river garden and a series of unique experiential tourism activities such as: Don ca tai tu, rowing a three-leaf boat in the middle of the coconut canal, enjoying local seasonal fruits... have brought many new and relaxing emotions to visitors.

According to Ms. Hang - a tourist from Ho Chi Minh City, she and her group of friends came to Thoi Son Islet to "change the air" after a long time of working. Enjoying fruits, honey tea, participating in folk activities such as rowing boats, listening to traditional music... was truly a fun trip with many interesting cultural experiences.

In addition, many households in Thoi Son Islet have boldly invested in expanding the community tourism model, combining traditional cuisine and short-term accommodation. This form not only helps people increase their income but also contributes to retaining tourists, creating a unique feature for local tourism.

Meanwhile, the Go Cong beach area (Go Cong Dong district) continues to be an ideal meeting place for thousands of domestic and foreign tourists, with a series of stalls selling and serving fresh clams, oysters, snails, and sea fish.

Not only is Tan Thanh Beach Tourist Area bustling, but along the sea dike from Tan Thanh Commune to Tan Dien Commune, many new check-in spots such as Sau Hoi Apple Garden also attract many visitors. During the first two days of the holiday, this area welcomed nearly 3,800 visitors to have fun and visit.
