TPO - On the evening of May 29, Phu Quoc Express Joint Stock Company - the unit operating the Thang Long high-speed boat running on the Ho Chi Minh City - Con Dao route - announced that the company will continue to organize free transfers for passengers.

According to the announcement, in order to facilitate passengers in traveling from the center of Ho Chi Minh City to the Saigon-Hiep Phuoc express ferry terminal and back, Phu Quoc Express will continue to provide transfers from 23/9 Park to the pier and back for customers in need and who have registered in advance.

Passengers taking the Thang Long Express train departing from Ho Chi Minh City who have registered for a shuttle bus must be present at 23/9 Park before 4:50 on the departure days to board the free shuttle bus to the pier. For trips from Con Dao to Ho Chi Minh City, the shuttle bus will pick up passengers at the pier and transfer them back to 23/9 Park.

Since the opening of the Ho Chi Minh City - Con Dao sea route on May 13, Phu Quoc Express has organized free shuttle buses to support passengers who have registered for transfers from 23/9 Park to Saigon - Hiep Phuoc Port and vice versa. However, in the early days of operation, there were some shortcomings that caused difficulties for passengers, leading to many passengers reacting negatively to this free service.

Therefore, on May 22, Phu Quoc Express announced that from June 1, the company will stop organizing free shuttle buses for passengers traveling on the Ho Chi Minh City - Con Dao route.

Phu Quoc Express said that the company has coordinated with the Department of Transport of Ho Chi Minh City to implement the transfer for professional road transport companies. However, up to now, there is still no suitable unit that can meet the demand for transfer.

Therefore, in order to not interrupt the pick-up of passengers and continue to facilitate passengers in the coming time, Phu Quoc Express has decided to maintain the free shuttle bus route from 23/9 Park to Saigon-Hiep Phuoc port for passengers traveling on the Ho Chi Minh City-Con Dao route until a suitable partner is found.

To address the shortcomings in the port area, Saigon - Hiep Phuoc Port Joint Stock Company has also arranged a 20-seat electric car to serve passengers, with priority given to the elderly and children. For passengers traveling by taxi or car to and from the port, the company has agreed to reduce the service price by 50% in the first 3 months of operation (from May 2024 to July 2024). In addition, the port management unit also arranged a parking lot for passengers traveling by high-speed train at a price of 10,000 VND/day for motorbikes and 30,000 VND/day for cars.
