TikTok has officially reached more than 460 million monthly active users in Southeast Asia; the announcement was shared by Mr. Nikhil Rolla, Director of Strategic Customers for Southeast Asia of TikTok at the first Apps Summit Southeast Asia 2025 Conference organized by TikTok in Hanoi on October 29.
According to a representative of this social networking platform, every month there are more than 160 million users in Indonesia, 70 million in Vietnam, 50 million in Thailand, and about 180 million other users across Southeast Asia accessing TikTok to entertain, learn and discover new things every day.
These figures not only demonstrate strong growth potential for app developers, technology companies and businesses, but also affirm Southeast Asia's strategic role as a key development hub in the region's digital transformation process.
Today, TikTok is not only an entertainment platform, but has become an important destination for discovering applications (apps) and driving business growth in many fields such as games, finance, travel and retail.
Statistics show that two-thirds of users who discover apps on this social network do so with a purpose, and 45% continue to learn more on the platform, demonstrating the increasingly clear role of social networks in users' decision-making process, beyond mere entertainment purposes.
At the event, TikTok also signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Digital Transformation Center under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam. This is considered a "handshake" to promote digital transformation in Vietnam, aiming to strengthen the digital ecosystem by supporting domestic enterprises, promoting cultural exchange, and creating momentum for sustainable digital growth.
According to digital transformation experts, TikTok has 460 million monthly users in Southeast Asia, of which 70 million are in Vietnam, which are impressive numbers.
Demonstrating the platform's strong appeal and influence, and showing the great potential for cooperation between the public and private sectors in cultural and creative development; experts assess this as a strategic move, opening up opportunities for extensive cooperation in the fields of digital content, creative media and technology human resource development.
This is also a testament to Vietnam's efforts in promoting the digital economy associated with international integration, affirming Vietnam's position in the regional digital transformation network.
