Floodwaters rose, dozens of households in Ham Thuan commune were isolated.

On the evening of October 30, due to the impact of the flood discharge of Song Quao reservoir combined with water flowing from upstream, the water level on Cau Ngua river, Ham Thuan commune (Lam Dong) rose rapidly, causing widespread flooding, cutting off many areas, and isolating dozens of households.

The water on Cau Ngua River rose very quickly.

Lam Giao, Ku Ke and Tam Hung villages were the most affected areas. The floodwaters rose rapidly, submerging many houses and temporarily paralyzing traffic.

Using jet skis to take people to safety

Police force sent canoes to help people

Immediately after the incident, Ham Thuan commune authorities urgently mobilized police, militia, traffic police, fire and rescue police and motor vehicles to the scene to evacuate people from the danger zone.

Due to the steep terrain and dense vegetation, rescue forces mobilized jet skis and canoes from neighboring tourist areas to coordinate in transporting people to safety.

The Fire Prevention and Rescue Police force is still carrying out rescue work.

By around 6:00 p.m. the same day, authorities had safely evacuated about 50 people from the deeply flooded area and continued to be on standby, ready to respond at night if the water continued to rise.

Currently, rescue work is still being urgently deployed, functional forces closely follow the developments of floods to promptly support and ensure the safety of people's lives and property.
