The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that the top priority in responding to natural disasters is to ensure absolute safety for the people. Local authorities need to proactively plan to evacuate people in areas at risk of landslides and floods to safe places. Focus on reviewing, planning, and arranging resettlement areas so that people in areas at risk of landslides in high mountains can move to safer new places and stabilize their lives.

According to statistics from the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province, by October 30, on national and provincial highways managed and authorized by the Department of Construction, there were more than 200 landslides, soil and rock spilled onto the road surface, and damaged drainage ditches along national highways, provincial roads and intersections.

On October 29, 95 villages/16 communes and wards were flooded, with 5,200 houses of people flooded.

In 3 days (from October 27 to 29), localities relocated and evacuated 977 households/3,662 people in areas at high risk of landslides, flash floods to safe places. The total damage caused by floods in Quang Ngai province is preliminarily estimated at 314.7 billion VND.
