Quang Ngai: Carrying a hammock, crossing the forest to take a critically ill pregnant woman to the emergency room

A pregnant woman in her 38th week of pregnancy in Son Tay commune, Quang Ngai province, suffered from pre-eclampsia. The functional forces of Son Tay commune used all their strength, carrying a hammock, crossing the forest, and overcoming landslides to take the patient to the emergency room.

Deputy Director of Quang Ngai Department of Health Phan Minh Dan said that at 3:30 p.m. on October 30, the Department of Health received urgent information from Son Tay Medical Center about pregnant woman D.TD, 38 weeks pregnant, who was admitted to the Center for emergency care in a state of severe preeclampsia.

To promptly rescue pregnant women with preeclampsia, Son Tay Medical Center coordinated with local authorities and functional forces to mobilize maximum means and human resources on duty along the entire route from Son Tay commune to Quang Ngai Province Maternity and Pediatrics Hospital.

Authorities carried hammocks, crossed forests and mountains to take the pregnant woman to the emergency room.

Faced with landslides and steep slopes, authorities had to stretch hammocks to carry the pregnant woman, cross forests and mountains, and use all their strength to bring her to safety.

After nearly 1.5 hours of arduous travel, the group arrived at Son Ha commune, where an ambulance was waiting to continue taking the pregnant woman to Quang Ngai Province Maternity and Pediatrics Hospital, about 40km away.
