Bach Mai Hospital builds an examination department to serve 7,000 examinations per day

(Chinhphu.vn) - Bach Mai Hospital has just held a groundbreaking ceremony for the project to invest in building an Examination Department with a floor area of ​​over 18,000m², meeting the scale of medical examination and treatment for about 5,000 - 7,000 examinations/day.

This is a key project in the strategy of modernizing the medical infrastructure of Bach Mai Hospital until 2030 and vision to 2045, contributing to improving the quality of medical examination and treatment for people, improving the working environment for medical staff . At the same time, gradually modernizing the Vietnamese health system in a synchronous and sustainable direction.

At the groundbreaking ceremony of the Project held on the afternoon of October 30, Associate Professor, Dr. Dao Xuan Co, Director of Bach Mai Hospital, shared that the hospital's infrastructure was built a long time ago, many buildings are nearly 100 years old, have seriously degraded, and can no longer meet the requirements of professional and technical development as well as the increasing health care needs of the people.

According to Decision No. 3152/QD-BYT dated October 6, 2025 of the Ministry of Health , the Examination Department of Bach Mai Hospital is built at the old building A of the Hospital. The project is designed with a scale of 5 floors above ground, 3 basements, a total floor area of ​​over 18,000 m², integrating specialized clinics, testing areas, imaging diagnostic areas, reception areas and modern patient support services, applying smart technology in management and operation.

The Director of Bach Mai Hospital expressed his commitment to implementing this project on schedule, ensuring absolute quality and safety to soon put the project into operation to serve the people.

Attending the groundbreaking ceremony, Deputy Minister of Health Le Duc Luan said that the project to invest in building the Examination Department of Bach Mai Hospital is a concrete step, demonstrating the determination of the health sector in modernizing the medical examination and treatment system, aiming to improve service quality, reduce workload, increase patient satisfaction, and at the same time improve the working environment for medical staff.

In order for the project to be completed and put into operation soon, meeting the people's expectations, the Deputy Minister of Health requested the Project Management Board, construction units and supervision consultants to speed up the progress but not to compromise on quality, apply modern technology, advanced technical solutions, save money and be effective.

It is expected that the project construction period will last from now until December 31, 2026. The project will be invested from the state budget's revenue increase capital.
