Ha Tinh evacuated hundreds of people in areas at risk of flooding.

Faced with the risk of flooding from prolonged rain, authorities of Vung Ang ward (Ha Tinh) have evacuated hundreds of people in low-lying areas to safety.

On October 30, Mr. Nguyen Van Giap - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Vung Ang Ward ( Ha Tinh ) - said that due to prolonged rain, some areas are at risk of local flooding, so local authorities are evacuating households in low-lying areas to safety.

Preliminary statistics show that about 300 people in the residential groups of Truong Yen, Truong Phu, Canh Truong, and Tay Yen had to evacuate to houses on higher terrain to avoid the risk of flooding.

Also according to Mr. Giap, due to heavy rain lasting from yesterday afternoon until today, many local roads were flooded, some roads were about 1 meter deep.

Also this afternoon, water flooded the yard of Ky Thinh Kindergarten and Ky Thinh Primary School (both at Tay Yen campus), so the school temporarily closed the students to ensure safety.

"Currently, local authorities are concentrating forces to organize in low-lying areas to call on people to raise their property and furniture in their homes to avoid the case of continued heavy rain causing water to flood into people's houses," Mr. Giap added.
