At the beginning of the first shift, each group of vehicles transports workers to the shift handover house to receive production orders, starting a new working day. Although the time on the vehicle is not long, from the bus station to the mine is only about 20-30 minutes, for many workers, this is a time to relax before entering the urgent, vibrant work shift. Workers going to the mine by van not only helps them go to work more safely, ensuring better health, but also maintains discipline, arrives at work on time, and ensures more effective shift handover orders.
In the Quang Ninh coal region, the cradle of the country's mining industry, the policy of transporting workers to and from work after work has become an indispensable part of miners' lives. From open-pit mines such as Deo Nai - Coc Sau, Cao Son, Ha Tu... to underground mines hundreds of meters deep such as Mong Duong, Vang Danh, Duong Huy..., every day there are thousands of buses transporting miners to the floor and off work. Those trips start at 4am, when it is still dark, and end late at night, when the miners have completed their hard work deep underground.

Picking up and dropping off miners is not only a production service, but also a practical care of the Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Group for workers, who are working in harsh environments, facing many risks and dangers.
Right from the first years of renovation, TKV and its member units have identified that mine workers are the most valuable asset. To make them feel secure in their work, in addition to salary, bonus, labor protection, etc., safe and punctual transportation is an important factor to ensure productivity and working spirit. Therefore, the transportation of mine workers is always organized systematically and scientifically , with a network of vehicles covering all mining areas. Each company has a fixed bus route, connecting workers' residential areas, dormitories, and remote housing with production sites.
In particular, with underground mines such as Mong Duong Coal, Vang Danh, Duong Huy, Nam Mau…, many workers live in the eastern areas of the province such as Tien Yen, Dam Ha, Hai Ha, even Mong Cai. To help them feel secure in their jobs, Vinacomin Miner Transportation Joint Stock Company has arranged dozens of vehicles every day, picking up workers from their homes and taking them home after work.
With 200 vehicles of all kinds, Miner Transportation Joint Stock Company is serving hundreds of routes every day, transporting tens of thousands of workers of TKV units in Quang Ninh. Each trip is considered a journey of responsibility; each driver and each assistant is trained to understand that they are transporting special workers - miners, who are contributing to ensuring energy security for the country.
From short routes of just a few kilometers around Cam Pha, Hon Gai, to long routes of over 100km to the East, all are operated synchronously, safely, and on time. Drivers, also known as miners' companions, often have to start work at 2-3 am, checking the vehicles, making sure everything is ready before pick-up time. They are also the ones who end the last shift, when they have brought the last buses back to the station safely.
Driver Phi Van Tuan, Transport Workshop 4, Vinacomin Miner Shuttle Joint Stock Company, shared: We consider serving miners as our mission. Each trip is not just about transportation, but also about the trust of the workers. They believe that no matter the rain or the sun, the vehicle will still be on time, still take them to their workplace safely, and return them to their families safely.

"Drivers are regularly trained, tested on safe driving skills, traffic culture, and at the same time, improve service spirit. Along with that, the company deploys software to manage routes, times, and number of passengers to optimize costs and improve operational efficiency. Thanks to that, for many years, the company has always been highly appreciated by TKV in ensuring absolute safety for workers, preventing serious incidents in transportation" - Mr. Nguyen Nhu Nga, Deputy Director of Vinacomin Miner Transportation Joint Stock Company, said.
In the context of the coal industry facing difficulties in the shortage of underground workers, the transportation of miners is increasingly important in retaining and attracting miners. In fact, many workers choose to stick with the profession for a long time thanks to the thoughtful care from food, accommodation, travel to welfare. Having a free shuttle helps them save costs, especially those who work night shifts or work in mines far from the center; helping miners ensure their health and peace of mind in production.
