Initial information, after the authorities had just finished repairing the landslide at Km59 on National Highway 28, Gia Bac Pass, two new landslides appeared, not far from the old location. Each point was 30-40m long, hundreds of tons of rock and trees fell down, burying the entire road surface.

Notably, many large trees with diameters of 0.4 - 0.6 m were also dragged along, lying across the road, making rescue work difficult. Traffic on the entire pass was cut off. Authorities have notified from a distance to vehicles to proactively travel in other directions to ensure safety.
Also in the morning of the same day, on Gia Bac Pass, many small landslides appeared, trees fell onto the road. After many hours of efforts to fix the situation, the situation was not stable, then in the afternoon, new landslides continued to occur.

Previously, as SGGP Newspaper reported, due to heavy rain lasting from the afternoon of October 27 to the early morning of October 28, National Highway 28 through Gia Bac Pass continuously experienced landslides. Up to now, on the more than 10km long pass, about 13 landslides and subsidence points have been recorded, posing many potential traffic safety risks.
Currently, authorities are on duty, making plans to open the road, ensuring traffic resumes as soon as possible.
