Implementing Plan No. 34/KH-TLĐ of the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor on taking care of Tet for union members and workers, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Ngo Duy Hieu has just signed and issued a plan to organize activities to support vehicles to bring workers home to celebrate Tet and return to work on the occasion of the Lunar New Year Binh Ngo 2026.
The objective of the plan is to specify the tasks of taking care of Tet, reduce the financial burden for union members in difficult circumstances or union members who have achieved excellent results in labor and production, and at the same time ensure traffic safety during Tet. The General Confederation requires supporting the right subjects, choosing appropriate means and mobilizing maximum social resources to implement economically and in accordance with regulations.
The beneficiaries are union members and employees working at enterprises that have paid union fees before October 31, 2025 in Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai and Tay Ninh, whose hometowns are from Da Nang to the North. Priority selection criteria are people in difficult circumstances, low income, those who have had work accidents, occupational diseases, serious illnesses, lost jobs, have unpaid wages, are relatives of meritorious people, ethnic minorities or people in disaster-stricken areas.
The representative of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor said that those with outstanding achievements, who have been awarded certificates of merit and prizes by provincial and municipal labor federations... in the period 2020 - 2025 are also eligible for support consideration.
In particular, union members who have not returned to their hometowns for many years will be given priority to participate in the following programs: 3 years or more for the “Union Flight - Spring 2026” and 2 years or more for the “Union Train - Spring 2026”. Those who receive support must commit to returning to work after the Tet holiday.
According to the approved plan, the General Confederation will allocate 500 one-way air tickets and 500 gifts worth 300,000 VND (cash) to the Labor Federations of Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai and Tay Ninh.
Flights departing from Tan Son Nhat airport between February 12 and 16, 2026 (ie December 25 to 29, At Ty year), landing at Noi Bai, Vinh and Phu Bai airports. Each worker is accompanied by one relative.
In parallel, the program "Union Train - Spring 2026" will support 2,000 round-trip train tickets and 2,000 gifts worth 300,000 VND/ticket. Trains depart from the stations: Saigon, Di An and Bien Hoa from February 10 to 16, 2026, return from February 20 to March 1, 2026. Each person can be accompanied by a maximum of 3 relatives.
The funding for the above programs is drawn from the trade union financial resources of the General Confederation and socialized sources, and signed cooperation partners.
This plan aims to ensure that all union members and workers in difficult circumstances can celebrate Tet together, safely, and return to work on time.
