On the morning of November 1, prolonged heavy rain combined with strong water flow from upstream, rising river water caused many residential areas in the downstream area of ​​Ke Go Lake (Cam Due commune, Ha Tinh province) to be deeply flooded, cut off and isolated.

Present at Cam Due commune, SGGP reporter recorded that heavy rain, water from upstream flowing to downstream was muddy, swirling, water on Ngan Mo river area rose. Meanwhile, Ke Go reservoir is regulating discharge through spillway to ensure safety for the project and downstream, so most of the inter-village and inter-commune traffic routes in low-lying areas downstream of Ke Go reservoir such as: Tan My, My Phu, My Dong, Thong Nhat... are deeply flooded, divided, isolated, with some points flooded from 1 to nearly 2m deep.

The roads were flooded and cut off, causing traffic to be completely paralyzed. People who wanted to leave their homes or get supplies had to travel by bamboo boats or small boats.

To proactively cope with the complicated rainy and flood weather, from the evening of October 31 to the morning of November 1, local people proactively raised their assets, moved their belongings to the second floor, and brought their motorbikes, cars, livestock and other assets to the community cultural house or other high areas.

Ms. Vo Thi Dinh (83 years old, residing in village 2, Cam Due commune) was safely evacuated.

At noon on November 1, Mr. Dang Van Thanh, Head of the Economic Department of Cam Due Commune, said that the local government and functional forces had proactively evacuated more than 780 households with more than 1,400 people living in low-lying, deeply flooded areas along the Ngan Mo River to safe shelters.

According to a quick report from the Standing Office of the Command for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control of Ha Tinh province, as of 7:00 a.m. on November 1, due to the impact of heavy rain, 1,458 households in Cam Due commune were flooded; Cam Lac commune had 203 households, Ky Van commune had 297 households, Ky Anh commune had 25 households, Ky Khang commune had 130 households, Vung Ang ward had 500 households, Song Tri ward had 323 households, Hoanh Son ward had 34 households, Ky Thuong commune had 24 households, Ky Lac commune had 169 households... were flooded. Cam Due commune had 46 inter-village and inter-commune roads with a length of 24.6km...
