Can Tho City People's Committee has just issued a plan to organize the annual Can Tho City Economic Forum in 2025.
With the theme “ Can Tho City towards a modern logistics center - Development driving force of the Mekong Delta”, the Forum is expected to take place in November 2025 with a scale of about 150 delegates.
The forum will analyze, evaluate the current situation and propose solutions to develop logistics activities in Can Tho City as the driving center of the Mekong Delta region, with specific contents such as: Logistics infrastructure (inland waterways, sea routes, roads, railways, airways, dry port infrastructure, logistics centers); logistics services (transportation, warehousing, delivery, ancillary services...).
Along with that, evaluate logistics service enterprises (number of enterprises, service provision capacity of enterprises, development trends); develop market for logistics services; mechanisms and policies for developing logistics activities in the coming time...

According to the People's Committee of Can Tho City, in the past term, the city's economic growth, although quite good, has not really made a breakthrough and is not commensurate with its potential. The central and core role of the region is still unclear. The socio-economic infrastructure is not yet synchronous, especially the transport infrastructure has not been effectively exploited, many important projects such as airports and seaports have not yet fully exploited their capacity...
To overcome bottlenecks and promote its leading role, Can Tho has identified its position as the regional center of trade, tourism, logistics, processing industry, education and training, specialized healthcare, and science and technology.
The target by 2030 is for the GRDP scale to reach at least 717,000 billion VND; the average GRDP per capita to reach about 215 million VND/person/year. In terms of economic structure, by 2030, the industrial and construction sector is expected to account for more than 35%; services more than 45%; agriculture, forestry and fishery to fall below 16%. The city strives to be in the group of 15 localities with good governance quality...
