On the afternoon of May 7, according to the Dong Nai Department of Health , the results of food sample tests in Long Khanh city that caused food poisoning in nearly 600 people are now available.
In the food poisoning case, there are still some children whose health condition is not stable.
According to the test results, most of the patient samples and food samples taken from Bang bakery were contaminated with Salmonella bacteria. Some other samples were contaminated with E.coli and some other bacteria.
In addition, for the case treated in Ho Chi Minh City, on May 6, according to news from Children's Hospital 2, Ho Chi Minh City, through testing, Salmonella bacteria were also found in the sample of patient PHM (14 years old).
As reported, on April 30, Bang bakery (Xuan Binh ward, Long Khanh city) sold 1,100 loaves of bread. By the morning of May 1, many people who had previously eaten bread from Bang bakery had symptoms of diarrhea and vomiting and had to be hospitalized for examination and treatment.
The time when the authorities discovered that the bakery did not have a business license and did not have a certificate of food safety eligibility.
Authorities have taken food samples from the bakery including cold cuts, pickles, ham, processed pork, and pate to send for testing on food safety indicators at the Ho Chi Minh City Institute of Public Health.
It is known that Salmonella bacteria are found in contaminated food and water sources. The incubation period for Salmonella infection is from 6-72 hours after eating, usually from 18-36 hours, symptoms such as abdominal cramps, diarrhea, chills, fever, nausea, vomiting... When entering the body, Salmonella will produce toxins that damage the intestinal mucosa, leading to symptoms such as abdominal pain, vomiting, diarrhea.
