On May 29, Vietnam College of Medical Technology and Pharmacy said it had sent a complaint to Da Nang City Police about the school being scammed by individuals who forged notices to defraud students who wanted to study abroad.
According to the school, recently, some people have forged a document called “Notice of International Students Studying Abroad in Joint Training Program for Specialized Certificates” with content that is said to be confirmed by the Russian Government . This forged document was drafted in a professional manner, labeled as the organization of the Talkshow “International Scholarships and International Students Studying Abroad”, with detailed information about the time, location, scholarship criteria and application instructions.
"This is a completely fake document of the school's legal status," a representative of Vietnam College of Medical and Pharmaceutical Technology confirmed.
According to the report, on May 27, a female student named THY reported to the school that she had been scammed out of VND390 million in her bank account through the aforementioned fake notice. The scammers used a strange phone number to contact her, instruct her to submit her application, and transfer money.

Vietnam College of Medical Technology and Pharmacy said it had provided the police with two phone numbers related to the scam. The school also advised students and parents to be vigilant and verify information directly with the school through official channels before making any transactions related to the scholarship or study abroad program.
Previously, in early May 2025, Da Nang City Police sent a document to universities and colleges in the area, warning about the situation of some subjects impersonating universities to defraud students and parents through study abroad scholarship programs.
Accordingly, the main tricks include forging announcements and invitations to participate in scholarship programs with logos, seals, and signatures impersonating university principals and functional agencies under the Ministry of Education and Training; Using social networks or fake emails (impersonating the International Cooperation Department of schools) to spread advertisements and invite students to participate in student exchange programs and short-term study abroad.
In addition, the subjects also impersonated officers of the International Cooperation Department to call students in need, discussing scholarship programs. Taking advantage of the desire to study abroad, they pressured students or parents to transfer money immediately because "there is a waiting list, otherwise they will lose their place".
