Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee directs to focus on responding to storm No. 13

Faced with the very complicated and dangerous developments of storm KALMAEGI (storm No. 13) - the storm is forecast to have a level 14 intensity, gusts of level 17, moving quickly in the West Northwest direction and is likely to make landfall directly in the Quang Ngai - Gia Lai area tonight, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee issued Official Dispatch No. 126-CV/TU requesting the entire political system to urgently respond.

Accordingly, the Provincial Party Committee, the Party Committees of the Provincial People's Committee, the Party Committees of communes, wards and special zones must focus on directing the strict implementation of storm prevention and control measures, absolutely not being subjective or negligent. Requesting the evacuation of people from areas at high risk of flash floods, landslides, deep flooding, postponing all unnecessary meetings, and the Party Committee Secretary must directly direct the response at the grassroots level.

The Provincial Party Committee also requested to strengthen propaganda and storm warnings to each village and residential group by all means: loudspeakers, mobile loudspeakers, social networks... so that people can promptly grasp information, proactively reinforce their houses and protect their property. Localities must prepare enough food and provisions, be ready to support isolated areas, and prevent speculation and price increases.

Military and police forces are assigned to closely coordinate with local authorities in evacuating people, conducting search and rescue, ensuring security and order, and overcoming the consequences of the storm. The Provincial Party Standing Committee requests a quick report on the deployment situation and damage (if any) to the Provincial Party Office before 4 p.m. every day for timely direction.
