Organizing a pair of trains named "Unification Train" to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South

On April 8, Vietnam Railways Corporation announced that, towards the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day, the railway industry will organize the operation of a pair of trains named "Reunification Train" specially designed, bearing the mark of the historical event.

Specifically, the “Unification Train” includes Train SE1 departing from Hanoi station and Train SE4 departing from Saigon station on the evening of April 29; the two trains will meet at 12 noon on April 30 at Da Nang station.

At the train farewell ceremony on the evening of April 29, the railway industry coordinated with partners to prepare some surprise gifts for passengers on these two trains. This is not just a normal train trip but a journey to look back at history, helping us understand and appreciate the value of peace .

Towards the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day, the railway industry organized many meaningful activities on trains and at stations with the aim of bringing new and meaningful experiences to passengers traveling by train.

On this occasion, the railway industry will reduce 40% of ticket prices for those who have contributed to the revolution such as: War invalids, sick soldiers, veterans, relatives of those who have contributed to the revolution... The program applies to passengers who buy train tickets between April 24 and May 9. Tickets will be sold directly at railway stations, passengers in priority groups need to bring confirmation documents when buying tickets and when boarding the train.

Especially from now until the end of the April 30 holiday, when buying train tickets, passengers will have the opportunity to join the railway industry in creating the Reunification train in cyberspace. Each successfully purchased ticket will be a red flag with a yellow star displayed on the ticketing system. Let's fill the train cars with the colors of the national flag, to recreate the Reunification train in modern times, turning each trip into a journey of solidarity and national pride.

Previously, the railway industry had organized early ticket sales and added more trains on key routes compared to normal days to meet the increased travel demand of people, ensuring that passengers could easily buy tickets to have a complete holiday.

On the Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City route, in addition to the 5 pairs of Thong Nhat passenger trains running daily, there will be 2 more SE9 trains running on April 29 and 30 from Hanoi station to Saigon station. On the Hanoi - Hai Phong route, in addition to the 4 pairs of trains running daily, there will be LP10 and HP4 trains departing from Hai Phong station, and HD2 trains departing from Hai Duong station from May 2 to May 4.

In addition, for destinations in the Central region, the railway industry added 4 trains on the Ho Chi Minh City - Da Nang route; 8 trains on the Ho Chi Minh City - Quy Nhon route, 6 trains on the Ho Chi Minh City - Nha Trang station route, 2 trains on the Ho Chi Minh City - Phan Thiet route, 2 trains on the Hanoi - Da Nang route and 4 trains on the Hanoi - Dong Hoi (Quang Binh) route.
