On January 22, in response to a question from a reporter from Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper about the Seoul Central District Court upholding the first instance court's ruling in the appeal hearing, requiring the Korean government to compensate more than 30 million won (20,000 USD) to Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh, who lost her family in the Quang Nam massacre in 1968, Spokesperson of the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pham Thu Hang said that Vietnam welcomes the recent ruling of the Seoul Court of Appeals, a ruling that reflects historical truth, contributing to realizing the spirit of "putting the past behind and looking toward the future".

With this viewpoint, the Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Vietnam wishes to work with Korea to further develop the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries; take practical actions to overcome the consequences of war, contributing to consolidating and enhancing the friendship and good cooperative relations between the two countries and peoples.
