Scientific seminar on equitable energy transition in Hung Yen province

On March 21, Hung Yen Provincial People's Committee coordinated with Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics to organize a scientific seminar with the theme "Fair Energy Transition".

Comrades: Associate Professor, Dr. Duong Trung Y, Deputy Director of Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics; Nguyen Hung Nam, Vice Chairman of Hung Yen Provincial People's Committee; Associate Professor, Dr. Le Van Chien, Director of the Institute of Leadership and Public Administration, Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics chaired the discussion.

Attending the seminar were representatives of the Party Committee of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of a number of departments, branches, associations, unions, and related units; representatives of the Department of Climate Change ( Ministry of Agriculture and Environment ) and experts and businesses interested in the field of energy conversion.

Speaking at the seminar, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hung Nam emphasized: The transition to clean, sustainable energy sources is inevitable, but also poses many challenges in terms of finance, technology and infrastructure. A fair energy transition is not only a global trend but also an urgent requirement for Hung Yen to contribute to ensuring sustainable economic development, improving competitiveness, protecting the environment and the rights of businesses and workers. If implemented well, Hung Yen can become a model for the green transition process in the Red River Delta region, contributing to the implementation of the country's sustainable development goals.

At the seminar, delegates focused on discussing the following contents: Current status of policies supporting equitable energy transition in Vietnam; policies supporting enterprises in the energy transition and green transition process of Hung Yen province; policies supporting small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the energy transition process; opportunities and challenges of SME enterprises in Hung Yen in the energy transition and green transition process.

During the discussion, delegates shared many opinions related to the roadmap and solutions for equitable energy transition in Hung Yen province, such as: Completing mechanisms and policies to support businesses in the green transition process, especially SMEs; long-term strategies, associated with training high-quality human resources and attracting investment in renewable energy projects; promoting the energy transition process towards sustainability, harmonizing the interests of the state, businesses and people....

In his closing remarks, Associate Professor, Dr. Duong Trung Y, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, highly appreciated the contributions of experts, delegates and business representatives. At the same time, he emphasized that the discussion contents at the seminar will be an important basis for Hung Yen province to build an energy transition roadmap suitable to actual conditions, contributing to ensuring sustainable development, harmonizing the interests of businesses, workers and the community.
