Continuing activities to celebrate the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2025), on the morning of May 20 local time, the Vietnamese Embassy in Venezuela coordinated with the Venezuelan Presidential Office to organize a rally and seminar on "The life and career of President Ho Chi Minh".
Attending the event were Professor, Dr. Omar Edmundo, President of the National Center for Historical Research; Deputy Chief of the Presidential Office Emilio Feriozzi, Deputy Foreign Minister Tatiana Pugh and more than 300 delegates, representatives of ministries, departments, branches, research experts, scholars from centers, research institutes, academies, and educational institutions in Venezuela.

In his opening speech, Professor, Dr. Omar Edmundo said that since he was a university student, he had learned about and loved the image of Ho Chi Minh. This sentiment had motivated him to participate in many marches and demonstrations with Venezuelan youth and students in support of the just struggle of the Vietnamese people led by President Ho Chi Minh.
Talking about Ho Chi Minh Thought, Mr. Omar Edmundo emphasized that this is a comprehensive and profound system of viewpoints on the fundamental issues of the Vietnamese revolution, the result of the creative application and development of Marxism-Leninism to the specific conditions of Vietnam, while inheriting and developing the fine traditional values of the nation, absorbing the quintessence of human culture.
Professor, Dr. Omar Edmundo affirmed that today, Ho Chi Minh Thought continues to be the guiding principle for the Party, State and people of Vietnam to achieve glorious victories in the new era, the era of the heroic Vietnamese nation's rise.

Meanwhile, Venezuelan Deputy Foreign Minister Tatiana Pugh said that in her position as Venezuelan Ambassador to Vietnam for the 2020-2023 period, she had the opportunity to learn and research deeply about Ho Chi Minh's life, career and ideology.
According to Deputy Minister Tatiana Pugh, President Ho Chi Minh was not only an outstanding thinker and great politician but also an outstanding cultural figure. He was deeply concerned throughout his life with building a team of revolutionary cadres who were “both red and expert”, considering cadres as the root of all work and that in order for work to be successful, it was necessary to first have good cadres who were well-trained and practiced regularly.
Speaking at the discussion, Deputy Chief of the Presidential Office Emilio Feriozzi affirmed that President Ho Chi Minh is an example of patriotism, simplicity and humility. He is a symbol of revolutionary heroism and the fight for independence and freedom. Under the leadership of President Ho Chi Minh, the Vietnamese people have won many important victories, especially the birth of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam in 1945, now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

Speaking at the event, Ambassador Vu Trung My said that since the day President Ho Chi Minh left his homeland to find a way to save the country more than a century ago, he has become an immortal symbol of patriotism, the will for independence, as well as the noble international spirit, and the desire for peace and justice for all oppressed peoples.
According to the Ambassador, his thoughts and career left a deep mark in Vietnamese history and became a great source of inspiration for the national liberation movement around the world, especially in Asia, Africa and Latin America. Ho Chi Minh was not only the leader of Vietnam, but also a great friend and loyal comrade of nations that love freedom and progress.
"Nothing is more precious than independence and freedom" is the declaration that led a small nation like Vietnam to great victories, making its name on the world political map, and continuing to this day is a peaceful, stable, developing Vietnam that is increasingly deeply integrated with the international community.

Within the framework of the event, delegates enjoyed the documentary Ho Chi Minh - portrait of a man and attended the Vietnam - Ho Chi Minh photo exhibition jointly organized by the Vietnamese Embassy in Venezuela and the VNA Resident Office in the region.
