However, the current development coordination between cinema and tourism in our country is not commensurate with its potential and there are barriers that prevent tourism and cinema from developing rapidly. Meanwhile, development experience in many countries around the world shows that if well coordinated, the tourism and cinema industries will bring great economic value, while contributing to promoting the image of the destination.

The seminar aims to clarify the potential and current status of tourism and cinema development cooperation in Vietnam, thereby proposing solutions to develop tourism in general and tourism and cinema cooperation in particular, increasing the attraction of international tourists to Vietnam; affirming the role of the tourism and cinema industries in the country's economy.

The seminar was attended by agencies, units managing and operating in the fields of tourism, cinema, promotion and advertising such as representatives of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Vietnam National Administration of Tourism; Vietnam Travel Association; representatives of the Vietnam Film Promotion and Development Association (VFDA); experts, scientists, tourism and cinema businesses; representatives of central and local press agencies...

At the seminar, delegates and speakers will clarify the potential and current status of cooperation in tourism and cinema development in Vietnam, the advantages and difficulties in the process of cooperation in tourism and cinema development in Vietnam; thereby proposing solutions to promote the strengths and potential of tourism and cinema in Vietnam.

In addition, the speakers also clarified solutions to attract US investors, filmmakers and tourists to Vietnam.

At the same time, representatives of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism also presented the main contents of the Vietnam Tourism - Cinema Promotion Program in the United States; discussed the work of promoting Vietnam tourism and innovations in this work in the coming time.

Accordingly, in order to promote tourist destinations, potential filming locations, attract film studios from Hollywood - the world's cinema capital - to Vietnam to film highly attractive films, and promote international tourists to Vietnam, from September 21-28, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will organize the Vietnam Tourism - Cinema Promotion Program in the United States with the theme "Vietnam - New Destination of World Cinema".

This is a key promotion and advertising program in 2024 of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism with the participation of representatives of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, representatives of a number of provinces/cities, representatives of the Department of Tourism, Department of Culture - Sports, Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of localities. In particular, tourism businesses, film businesses, actors, some KOLs... will be the main subjects of this promotion and advertising program.

Currently, the tourism industry aims to welcome 1.3 million American visitors in 2028 and put the United States in the top 3 markets sending visitors to Vietnam.
