On the morning of October 16, at the National Convention Center, the Hanoi Party Committee opened the 18th Party Congress, term 2025-2030.

General Secretary To Lam; former General Secretary Nong Duc Manh; President Luong Cuong; former President Nguyen Minh Triet; former President Truong Tan Sang; Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh; former Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung; National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man ; former National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Van An; former National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung... and many leaders and former leaders of the Party and State attended the congress.

In addition, the congress also convened 550 delegates representing nearly 500,000 party members of the entire Party Committee to attend the opening ceremony of the congress.

Previously, on the afternoon of October 15, at the National Convention Center, the Hanoi Party Committee held a preparatory session for the 18th Congress of Delegates, term 2025-2030. Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Bui Thi Minh Hoai chaired the preparatory session.

"The 18th Congress of the Hanoi Party Committee, term 2025 - 2030, is a very important political event for the Party Committee, government and people of the capital, attracting the attention of agencies, organizations and people of all walks of life, not only in Hanoi but also in the whole country.

"The success of the City Party Congress will contribute significantly to the success of the 14th National Party Congress," said Ms. Hoai.

According to the Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, the 18th Hanoi Party Congress will focus on implementing four key tasks. Specifically:

Firstly, summarize the implementation of the Resolution of the Hanoi Party Congress for the 2020-2025 term, and at the same time determine the directions, goals, tasks and solutions for the 2025-2030 term.

Second, discuss and contribute opinions to draft documents submitted to the 14th National Party Congress.

Third, elect the Executive Committee of the Hanoi Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term.

Fourth, elect the delegation to attend the 14th National Party Congress.

Regarding the above work content, Ms. Hoai requested the delegates attending the congress to uphold their sense of responsibility, concentrate their intelligence, and maximize their role in representing the will and aspirations of Party committees at all levels and nearly 500,000 Party members in the entire City Party Committee.

The Congress Presidium consists of 16 delegates.

In the preparatory session of the congress, 16 delegates were elected to the Congress Presidium.

Accordingly, with 100% of delegates agreeing, the congress approved a list of 16 individuals to the Congress Presidium, including:

1. Ms. Bui Thi Minh Hoai - Secretary of Hanoi Party Committee.

2. Mr. Tran Sy Thanh - Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee.

3. Mr. Nguyen Van Phong - Standing Deputy Secretary of Hanoi Party Committee.

4. Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Tuan - Chairman of Hanoi People's Council.

5. Ms. Nguyen Lan Huong - Vice President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi City.

6. Mr. Hoang Trong Quyet - Chairman of the Hanoi Party Committee's Inspection Committee.

7. Mr. Ha Minh Hai - Head of the Organizing Committee of the Hanoi Party Committee.

8. Mr. Nguyen Doan Toan - Head of Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of Hanoi Party Committee.

9. Mr. Do Anh Tuan - Head of the Hanoi Party Committee's Internal Affairs Committee.

10. Mr. Le Hong Son - Permanent Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee.

11. Ms. Phung Thi Hong Ha - Vice Chairwoman of Hanoi People's Council.

12. Mr. Nguyen Trong Dong - Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee.

13. Mr. Duong Duc Tuan - Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee.

14. Ms. Bui Huyen Mai - Vice President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi City.

15. Lieutenant General Nguyen Thanh Tung - Director of Hanoi City Police.

16. Major General Dao Van Nhan - Commander of the Capital Command.
