According to reports, storm No. 13 caused serious damage to the power system in Gia Lai province. The whole province recorded 21 110 kV grid failures and 208 medium voltage grid failures; 17/30 110 kV transformer stations and 8,714/11,705 distribution transformer stations lost power, affecting more than 721,000 customers, accounting for nearly 74% of the total number of electricity customers. In the Eastern region, the power outage rate was up to 98.6%; the maximum lost capacity was 421 MW.
Regarding infrastructure, the electricity industry recorded 1,524 medium-voltage poles and 1,144 low-voltage poles broken; 35 distribution transformers and many auxiliary equipment damaged. The metering system suffered damage of more than 468 million VND. Facility 1 alone suffered damage of about 805 million VND.
Immediately after the storm, the Electricity sector mobilized more than 2,239 officers and workers and 355 vehicles and equipment following the "4 on-site" motto to urgently fix the problem.

By November 9, 90% of customers had their power restored. By November 17, only Canh Lien and Canh Tien villages remained inaccessible due to the isolated terrain.
At the meeting, EVNCPC leaders acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts of Gia Lai Power Company in responding to, handling incidents and restoring the power grid. The Corporation requested the unit to continue focusing on thoroughly overcoming the consequences of storm No. 13, and at the same time proactively deploying plans to respond to the current complicated flood situation, ensuring safe and stable power supply for the people.

On this occasion, EVNCPC General Director Ngo Tan Cu awarded a certificate of merit to Mr. Le Thanh Tan - Head of Tuy Phuoc Power Technical Management Team, for bravely saving the life of a resident swept away by floodwaters in the Lac Dien overflow area on the afternoon of November 18.
