The General Statistics Office will support the method of calculating socio-economic indicators in the Documents of the 18th Dak Lak Provincial Party Congress.

On the morning of September 19, in Hanoi, the General Statistics Office (GSO) worked with the Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee on the method of calculating socio -economic indicators in the province. Deputy General Director Le Trung Hieu and Mr. Nguyen Tuan Ha, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee co-chaired the meeting.

Attending the working session, on the side of the General Statistics Office, there were representatives of leaders of professional units; on the side of the Dak Lak Provincial Working Group, there were representatives of leaders of Departments, branches, Dak Lak Provincial Statistics Office and members of the Working Group.

At the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Tuan Ha, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, said that Dak Lak province is organizing an assessment of the implementation of the 5-year socio-economic development plan for 2021-2025 and developing a 5-year plan for 2026-2030, serving the development of documents for the 14th National Party Congress and the 18th Provincial Party Congress, term 2025-2030.

Based on the review of the results of the implementation of the socio-economic development plan of Dak Lak province from 2021 to 2024, comparing the data on the province's gross regional domestic product (GRDP) announced by the General Statistics Office and the socio-economic development situation in the area, Dak Lak province found that there are some contents related to the province's GRDP data that need to be clarified to have a basis for analyzing and closely assessing the local socio-economic situation, effectively serving the leadership, direction and administration work and building the report of the 18th Provincial Party Congress Documents...

In addition, the Department of Planning and Investment of Dak Lak province reported on the contents related to the GRDP index of Dak Lak province in the period of 2021-2024. Accordingly, the socio-economic situation of Dak Lak province in 2 years (2023 and 2024) developed positively, most indicators grew quite well, investment attraction had many improvements; agricultural production maintained development, had a high growth rate due to the high prices of coffee, pepper, durian, rice products and the output of key products of all industries reached and exceeded the annual plan; People's income and living standards are improved... However, the GRDP growth rate in 2024 of Dak Lak province (at 2010 comparative prices) is estimated at 4.38%, a growth rate still low compared to the plan... Therefore, Dak Lak province hopes that the General Statistics Office will continue to review, provide specific instructions and provide information to localities to calculate timely and complete data to serve the leadership, direction and administration of provincial leaders...

Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee presented gifts and took souvenir photos with leaders of GSO and attending delegates.

Representatives of the leaders of the functional units of the General Statistics Office shared and provided the delegation with methods and procedures for calculating statistical data in the fields of: Agriculture, industry, construction, trade, investment, GRDP indicators, price indexes, etc.

Vice Chairman Nguyen Tuan Ha thanked the leaders of the General Statistics Office and representatives of the functional departments for sharing and providing information and methods for calculating socio-economic indicators in Dak Lak, and affirmed that the province will further enhance the responsibility of all levels and sectors in coordinating with each other to unify the calculation of socio-economic indicators, serving the leadership, direction and policy making at the local level.

Sharing at the meeting, Deputy Director General Le Trung Hieu acknowledged and congratulated Dak Lak province for achieving positive socio-economic results in recent times; at the same time, he emphasized that the statistical work has always been carried out by the GSO in accordance with procedures and regulations and with good coordination with the locality. In the coming time, the GSO will continue to support the province in reviewing, researching and updating methods of calculating socio-economic indicators so that the province has a basis for developing annual socio-economic development plans, serving the construction of documents of the 18th Provincial Party Congress.
