Summary of the model "Project linking tobacco production and product consumption in communes in Loc Binh district"

- On the afternoon of May 31, at the People's Committee of Tu Doan commune, the People's Committee of Loc Binh district held a conference to summarize the model of "Project linking tobacco production and product consumption in communes in Loc Binh district". Attending were representatives of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development; leaders of the district People's Committee; leaders of the People's Committees of communes, towns, and households participating in the project.

Implementing the Investment Project Program "Stabilizing and sustainably developing tobacco raw material areas in Lang Son province for the period 2013-2020, with a vision to 2030. In the Spring crop of 2024, the People's Committee of Loc Binh district coordinated with Ngan Son Lang Son Tobacco Joint Stock Company to implement the "Project to link tobacco production and consumption in communes in Loc Binh district".

Accordingly, this spring crop, 100% of the tobacco area in the district is invested by enterprises for farmers according to the 4-house model (enterprise - farmer - state - scientist ) and is deployed in the communes of Tu Doan, Dong Quan, San Vien to grow GL7 tobacco variety with an area of nearly 5 hectares with 10 participating households; the average yield of this crop is from 3 tons/ha, the quality of dried yellow tobacco type 1, 2, 3 accounts for 85-90%, the selling price is from 52,000 VND - 62,000 VND depending on the quality of the leaves. After deducting the investment costs, planting, care, harvesting, drying, the model brings in an income of over 133 million VND/ha.

At the conference, communes and households participating in the project shared the difficulties and advantages in implementing tobacco planting, hoping that in the coming time they will continue to receive support to expand the area of tobacco planting in the locality, contributing to increasing income and improving life.

In the coming time, all levels and sectors will continue to closely coordinate with localities, people and businesses in growing and consuming products, applying scientific and technical advances to improve productivity, quality and value of raw tobacco in the district, gradually expanding the area according to the plan.
