This morning (September 7), a delegation from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development led by Minister Le Minh Hoan and Chairman of the Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee Cao Tuong Huy inspected the storm situation at Tuan Chau International Passenger Port, Ha Long City.

Currently, the cruise ships are safely anchored in storm shelters, and there are no more tourists on the islands. More than 2,000 tourists are staying on the mainland.

Due to the impact of storm No. 3, heavy rain, strong winds, and gusts of level 12 occurred in Co To district ( Quang Ninh province), causing rough seas and power outages throughout the district. In the early morning of September 7, nearly 800 people were evacuated to safe storm shelters to ensure living conditions. Co To district has developed a plan to ensure the safety of people and arrange safe storm shelters.

The authorities of communes and towns have arranged safe storm shelters for households with degraded houses, new economic roofs (built since 1997) with the risk of roofs being blown off or collapsing at motels, hotels, cultural houses, and schools; some households have evacuated to relatives' houses.

The Standing Committee of the District Party Committee and the People's Committees of communes and towns have assigned officers to be on duty and control evacuation and storm shelter points; assigned officers and armed forces units to be in charge of each village and hamlet.

At the same time, direct villages and areas to continue to review each household and the number of people living in level 4 houses (tiled roofs, corrugated iron roofs, Fibro cement, etc.); resolutely relocate 100% of the people in these households to solid, safe houses.

At 7am this morning, Co To Island had force 11 winds and torrential rain. Some temporary tents and billboards were knocked down. Fortunately, the storm hit during low tide, so the impact of the waves was minimized.
