On August 25, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said officials are preparing for a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan, expected to take place soon.
Speaking to reporters in Moscow, Mr. Peskov emphasized that this meeting will take place soon and Russia will announce the time and location of the event.

Earlier, a diplomatic source in Turkey revealed that the meeting between the two leaders was planned in Sochi (Russia) and could take place on September 4. President Erdogan intends to raise the issue of resuming the Black Sea grain deal. In addition, the establishment of a gas center and the construction of the Akkyu nuclear power plant in Turkey could be the main topics of the meeting.
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan is expected to visit Ukraine on August 25 and then Russia in September for talks on reviving the grain export deal, according to the Turkish newspaper Milliyet. Russian, UN and Turkish officials are likely to hold talks on the Black Sea Grain Initiative in Istanbul, Turkey. If the event is successful, talks with Ukraine could follow.
