Ho Chi Minh City has just announced the number of students registering for the 10th grade public high school entrance exam in 2025. According to analysis in regular 10th grade classes (excluding specialized and integrated), Tran Dai Nghia Secondary and High School leads with a ratio of up to 1/4.61. That means nearly 5 candidates taking the exam, only 1 candidate is admitted.
Last year, this ranking belonged to Nguyen Huu Huan High School. In 2025, this school ranked second, but the ratio dropped sharply from 1/3.22 to 1/2.39.
Notably, Nguyen Thuong Hien High School, Ho Thi Bi, Gia Dinh is not in the top 10 list. This is surprising because for a long time, Nguyen Thuong Hien and Gia Dinh High Schools have always been in the top.

In 2024, after the Department of Education and Training added 5,535 quotas to 62 schools, the competition ratio for grade 10 often fluctuated. Nguyen Huu Huan High School took the lead despite reducing the competition ratio to 1/3.22. Next was Ho Thi Bi High School with a competition ratio of 1/3.06. These were also the only two schools that maintained a competition ratio above 3.
The remaining three names in the top 5 are Nguyen Thuong Hien High School, Le Quy Don High School and Pham Van Sang High School.
