The Vietnamese auto market is witnessing a wave of deep price cuts in many segments, including cheap B-class sedans being sold off by manufacturers and dealers to attract customers. |
Except for Honda City, which has almost sold out its inventory, the remaining models in this segment are all being offered incentives by manufacturers and distributors in April 2025. In particular, domestically assembled models such as Toyota Vios, Hyundai Accent, KIA Soluto, etc. continue to receive attractive incentives. |
Specifically, Toyota is supporting 50% of the registration fee for Vios buyers, equivalent to a cash incentive of about 23 - 32 million VND. Thanks to that, the rolling price of Vios only fluctuates from 435 - 513 million VND (depending on the province). |
Similarly, Hyundai Accent (listed price 439 - 569 million VND) is being offered a discount of up to 50 million VND for cars manufactured in 2024, bringing the selling price of the car to around 400 - 520 million VND. |
Besides the 3 best-selling models in the above segment, some other names in the B-class sedan segment such as Mitsubishi Attrage, Nissan Almera or KIA Soluto are also not out of the B-class sedan price reduction race. |
In particular, Nissan Almera is supported with 100% of the registration fee, equivalent to a reduction of 49 - 68 million VND, down to 489 - 569 million VND. Kia Soluto is reduced from 17 - 21 million VND, Mazda2 is given incentives from 6 - 10 million VND. |
Mitsubishi Attrage is being supported by the Japanese car company with 100% registration fee for the MT manual transmission version with a conversion value of 38 million VND. This incentive brings the selling price of Attrage MT down to 342 million VND, the cheapest in the segment. |
The two remaining discounted Mitsubishi Attrage versions are CVT (465 million) and CVT Premium (490 million) with 50% support for registration fee with converted value of 23 and 24.5 million VND, bringing the selling price of these two versions to 442 and 465.5 million VND respectively. |
Some experts say the main reason for the incentive comes from the amount of cars in stock that has lasted since the end of 2024. This "clearance" move helps manufacturers and dealers prepare for the launch of facelift or new generation versions this year. |
In addition, the trend of consumers shifting to small but valuable SUV/crossover models such as Mitsubishi Xfocre, along with attractive promotions, has caused traditional sedans to gradually lose their advantage. This forces car manufacturers to increase incentives for low-cost, manual transmission versions to attract this group of customers. |
