After being established, the Working Group is responsible for reviewing and classifying problems and issues in the process of compensation, support and resettlement; and determining the amount of work that needs to be completed in each ward.
The implementation results must be reported to the City People's Committee every 2 weeks, and at the same time, advise the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee to promptly direct and handle issues beyond his authority.
Regarding progress, the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee requested that all site clearance work must be completed by November 2025, in accordance with the direction of the Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee.
The People's Committees of Binh Loi Trung, An Nhon, Binh Thanh and Gia Dinh wards were assigned to send leaders to participate in the Working Group, and at the same time urgently review and handle problems in the management areas.
Heads of units are responsible to the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee for any delay in resolving and completing compensation and resettlement procedures and policies under their authority.
The Xuyen Tam canal project, with a length of nearly 9 km, started construction in early May 2025, including investment items: dredging and cleaning the canal; construction of drainage systems, roads, sidewalks, trees and other auxiliary works.
The project has a total investment of 17,229 billion VND, of which compensation, support and resettlement costs account for 14,000 billion VND.
According to the plan, the entire project will be completed by 2028. However, up to now, many sections have not been handed over, affecting the construction progress.
