On the afternoon of June 27, at the socio -economic press conference, Ms. Pham Thi Dieu Thuy - Deputy Director of the Planning Information Center, Department of Planning and Architecture of Ho Chi Minh City - said that from June 24, the city announced and opened the exam for individuals and organizations to participate in the international competition for planning and architectural ideas for the Binh Quoi - Thanh Da peninsula.
By July 8, the City will finalize the list of consulting units registering to participate in the competition. The results of the competition will be announced in mid-October 2024.
The prize structure includes 1 first prize worth 5 billion VND, 1 second prize worth 3.75 billion VND and 1 consolation prize worth 1.25 billion VND from socialized sources.
Previously, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee approved the exam assignment. The requirement is that the exam plan must ensure the planning requirements for building the Binh Quoi - Thanh Da peninsula into an ecological, sustainable and modern urban area.
Acting as a new development driving force for the central area of the city, with spillover effects, accelerating the urban economic transformation process towards green economic development, digital economy, and circular economy.
Forming an urban area with a good living environment, attractive landscape, rich in identity, attracting people and businesses to live and work.
The conceptual planning scheme needs to focus on studying the Binh Quoi - Thanh Da peninsula in the overall planning of the city, with the focus on the Saigon River. Creating a unique and distinctive highlight for the urban landscape along the Saigon River, an attractive public destination, spreading value and development potential for the entire sub-region.
