More than 500 points in 10 subjects
According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, this year's exam has a total of 76,154 candidates registered, a decrease of 27,330 candidates compared to last year. Of which, the number of candidates participating in all three compulsory subjects including Literature, Math and Foreign Language accounts for a high proportion. Candidates who take all subjects, do not violate regulations and do not have a score of 0 on their exam will have their admission results recognized. This year, public high schools in Ho Chi Minh City enroll 70,070 students in grade 10.
Preliminary assessment from the Department of Education and Training shows that this year's exam scores are generally stable, ensuring reasonable differentiation to serve the admission process to public high schools. The whole city recorded 524 scores of 10 in the exam subjects. Of which, 36 candidates achieved absolute scores in Math, English and integrated subjects also had maximum scores (488 scores of 10 in English). In particular, although Literature is known as a subject that is difficult to achieve absolute scores, 2 candidates achieved 9.5 points, reflecting a clear differentiation, helping schools easily select suitable students.

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training said that this year's score distribution in all three subjects ensured objectivity, accurately reflecting the students' level and ability. In particular, Math had a breakthrough in score distribution, shown by the number of high scores increasing compared to last year.
How to calculate admission score
Candidates for grade 10 take 3 exams: Literature, Math, English. Candidates for specialized schools take an additional specialized subject. Candidates for the integrated English program take an integrated English subject.
Admission score for non-specialized public high school grade 10 is the total score of the following subjects:
Admission score = Literature score + English score + Math score + Priority points, incentive points (if any).
According to the regulations of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, the test scores of each subject are calculated on a 10-point scale. Successful candidates must take all 3 tests and not have any test with a score of 0.
Candidates' wishes are considered in order. Based on the quota of each school, the Department of Education and Training considers from top to bottom until there are enough students, the principle is that the standard score of the next wish is not lower than the previous wish.
The admission score for grade 10 specialized schools is the sum of the scores of the regular exams and the specialized subject scores multiplied by a coefficient of 2:
Admission score = Literature score + English score + Math score + Specialized subject exam score x 2 + Priority points, incentive points (if any).
The Department of Education and Training stipulates that exams must have a score of 2 points or higher.
The integrated admission score for grade 10 is the total score of three regular exams plus the integrated score (on a 10-point scale).
Group 1: Students who have studied the integrated English program at secondary school level are considered according to: Admission score = Literature score + Math score + English score + Average score of the integrated English program. These students are given priority to enter schools that teach the integrated program.
Group 2: Students who do not study the integrated program but register for admission must take an additional integrated English exam: Admission score = Literature score + Math score + English score + Integrated English exam score. Candidates must take all exams, not violate regulations and have no exam with a score of 0.
